Good Monday Morning!

Hi It's a dreary Monday here in Annapolis as I am sure it must be all around Maryland. I got out of the house this morning without my cell phone and realized it right at the point of 'no return' getting on Rt 50. I initially thought, no biggie, I can live without the phone for a day, but then I realized how much is in my phone (including how to contact my boss who is out of town if I need to) and that my phone is my only contact information for many people in my life, so I made a quick loop when I got off at Rowe Blvd and headed home to retrieve it. Of course, by then I was 20 minutes LATER than I would have been and the traffic was backed up. I finally got here at 8 a.m. We have the TV in the conference room on for the day so that people can watch the 9/11 tributes and news features. There is something going on at the Memorial in front of the Goldstein Building on Calvert Street in Annapolis. They were setting up two ladder trucks to hang a huge American flag when I came by on my way in. Today is a day of remembrance of possibly the most tragic day in our lifetimes. Hugs, Mo

Morning Mo - Maybe the rainy weather is appropriate in light of today's anniversary. I remember 9/11/01 as being a crystal clear, beautiful fall day. I also remember racing up Route 1 in Jessup to get home - for some reason, I just didn't want to be on the other side of the tunnel from my family. Then, for days, weeks after, seeing the same images over and over on tv. It's clear that our lives will never be the same. We may try to visit the site in NYC this December, but I'm less inclined to visit what I view as a gravesite, I don't know, just MHO. Not that we'll ever forget, but I don't know if I can handle the raw emotions. On a less somber note, we had a great time yesterday! It was nice to meet some new faces, wasn't it? My Mom enjoyed it and thanked everyone for letting her come. So, after today, we'll look into November's gathering. Today's drive to work (1 hour and 45 minutes) was NOT fun! So I didn't get to wor****il 8:30, when I'm supposed to be here at 7:30 and open the office at 8:00! Sounds like a lot of people were in the same boat!! ICK!! Hope you (and everyone) has a great day! "Maybe the rainy weather is appropriate in light of today's anniversary" I was thinking the same thing when I walked out of the house this morning! A sad day to remember indeed. Sorry I missed the crabs, but we had a wonderful time in OC and I got my fill of crab legs and oysters Heather

Good Morning Everybody! Gee, sounds like today is just going swimmingly for everybody....not. I basically overslept and have decided that like Tia last week, I have anal-gluacoma because I just don't see myself going into work today...hehe. I've got a few things to do so I just decided to bag it and do them today. I was laying in bed this morning listening to the remembrances on the radio and remembering that 5 years ago today I was recuperating from wrist/elbow surgery and I was laying in bed then when it came over the radio. Hearing the stuff on the radio this morning took me right back there. I just hope that this nation never has to experience another attack like that. I pray for the safety of volunteer workers (paramedics, firefighters and policeman/woman) everyday. It was great seeing everybody yesterday and nice to meet some new faces. My Mom enjoyed herself and thanked everybody for allowing her to tag along. My Mom really is my best friend. Well, I'm gonna get off of here, eat my cereal and then get those things done that I need to do and then I'm gonna hit the gym. Yippee!, I've managed to work out like I'm supposed to for the past week! The darn scale still hasn't moved, but at least I know I'm doing it. Have a Great Day Everybody! Take Care, Terry

Good morning! I agree with Tia, maybe the weather is appropriate for the day. We were in Texas, days away from heading to CA for our next duty station. It must have been frightening for y'all here, esp when I think of how scared I was and we weren't anywhere near here. I heard such a sad thing on the radio this AM. They said that the count for the number who died in NY was over 2000 (2400 somthing I think) and that less than 1600 of those were able to be identified. So sad! It must be awful for the families of those that were not able to have their family members identified. What a tragedy. They are in my prayers. I really enjoyed our outing yesterday. It was great meeting you all. I am looking forward to the next one. I'll have to do the steamed crabs if we ever go to another place that serves them. I forgot my leftovers but oh well. I probably wouldn't have eaten it anyway. Well, I hope when the sun comes out later today that all of our spirits are lifted and our day will brighten up. Hugs, Robin

Hey Robin - First, you look amazing - absolute proof that WLS works!!! We enjoyed meeting you, too! And yes, you forgot your leftovers - we realized after you were up the road a bit and no one had your cell. I figured you wouldn't mind if my Mom enjoyed your leftovers! So, on behalf of her tummy - thank you! Sorry you forgot them! Yes, we'll teach you how to pick crabs next time. It's a lot of work for sometimes little reward, but worth it - at least to me! Have a good one, Tia

Hey Tia! Someone in my office recommended another place up there for crabs too .. By The Docks (at 3321 Eastern Av) it's in zip 21220 (where ever that is.... ) I'm hoping we can do the November event either the 4th or the 18th. I don't have specific plans to go away yet the 11th, but since I will be off on Friday I'll probably make use of that weekend for a trip to check on the parental units! Hugs, Mo

Hey Mo - Yup, 21220 is MY area - one in which I actually don't get lost!!! By the Docks has the MOST AWESOME crab cakes ever! I mean, GINORMOUS!!!! They don't have crabs, though, it's kind of an upscale restaurant, and ALWAYS requires reservations weeks ahead of time. In fact, all of their food is incredible - Mom & I try to go about once a month for lunch, since that seems to be less crowded. Their single crab cake platter w/2 vegs is $12.95, and their double is $21.95 - I can eat for 4 days from the double! Anyway, that's the scoop! It literally is 5 minutes from my house, since if you're ever bored and Mr. Mo is golfing, call me and we'll try to get a table. Actually, I was thinking about that for our December gathering since I wanted us to do something special for Christmas. God, did I say Christmas??!!! YIKES!!!! Tia
