Draining issues

Good evening to all I wanted to see if anyone is having this problem. I had my surgery July 10th 2006 and on July 17th the bottom of my incision starting draining. That was the same day my home nurse was coming to see me for my first at home checkup. So I didn't bother to call my surgeon. So my nurse told me that it was the good drainage and I had nothing to worry about. . She told me to keep a gauze pad on it and change it a few times a day. Ok no problem. Well a week later I had my 2 week check up and got my staples and tube taken out and it was still draining. My surgeons nurse practitioner said it was ok. Never said it should stop draining at a certain point. (and I forgot to ask) I was just happy to have my staples out . So I have to keep buying these gauze pads and tape that is tearing up my skin. Well my next nurse comes out a wek later and says there is dead tissue right there it needs to come out. So my surgeon prescribes me this debreeding cream. It helps cleared it right up. Except this pimple looking things at the bottom where it is still draining. Yes it is STILL DRAINING. I went for my 6 week check up and the nurse didnt say anything again. Yet I didn;t ask because I was blown away by the 50 pounds I had lost in 6 weeks. So I guess it could be my fault. But has anyone had this problem or have it and know when it should stop? Hi Kelly, I don't have any experience with this, but maybe you should give your doctor a call and just check on it. I would be a little concerned if it was going on for over 6 weeks now. Hugs, Mo

Kelly, I'd contact my surgeon pronto if I were you. I don't think it's a good thing that it's still draining at six weeks out. On a positive note, CONGRATULATIONS on the 50lbs! That is wonderful! Keep up the great work!!!! Take Care, Terry

I'm a pre-op so no advice...but OMG, congrats on the 50 lbs in 6 weeks. That is awesome and wtg!!! Keep up the good work! Deb
