The folks that read and post on this Board have had their surgery with a number of different surgeons, at a number of different hospitals, some open-style, some lap-style. Our experiences that we can share with you will vary based on the surgeon, hospital, and type of WLS. While we all probably believe all will go well for you, it may help us to give you more specific information if you could share a few more details about your upcoming surgery. Of course, we all wish you well!
My surgery date is ALSO Sep 5. I am lucky to have a few relatives and friends at work who have already been through it. Everyone's recovery is different. I know exactly how you feel. I'm excited, apprehensive, and downright scared. I'm filling in my living trust/living will info and it is sure scaring me! We just have to keep telling ourselves "We'll do FINE!" ...janet
Hi Tennille,
I'm scheduled for Sept 7th, close to yours. I used to have a friend with your name...are you from Pasadena? Good luck with everything & it will all work out. From what I heard, people/friends of mine that have had laprocopic RNY, they stopped taking pain meds 4-5 days after surgery....so that tells you something. Good Luck!!!!
