First of all, Good Morning everyone. I am in need of advice and prayers. I am able to eat way too much for someone who is only 1 month post op. Here is what I had yesterday... 8am 1 scoop nectar w/crystal light (10 oz) 25 grams of protein 10am small bowl of all bran ceral aprox 1cup with 2% milk 1pm eggo waffle with peanut butter 3pm 4 crackers with cheese 8pm tuna salad on half wheat toast 10:30 Pinto beans and cheese (taco bell container) Runny beans/cheese... I am not being greedy, I just all of a sudden have this hunger and I try to offset it by drinking water and that really doesn't help. I also tried the 30/30 rule regarding water before and after meals and I can't wait that long... when I try to eat something and wait for 30min to drink, I get the worst fullness feeling and pain, my only relief comes when I drink some water to wa**** down... I am not sure if this is PMS because I am cramping (sorry to be graphic) I just want to know what some of your diet's consist of or consisted off so early post op

I'd assume you haven't had a fill yet. My husband has experienced the same. Once you start getting fills you'll eat less and less. Hang in there. Just make good choices with your food which you seem to be doing. Remember to CHEW CHEW CHEW! Heather

Thanks for the advice! That was yesterday and today was a little different. Upon rising (6:ish) I had my nectar protein drink and waited next (9:00a) I ate a scrambled egg with a couple of shrimp (I know, weird huh?) 9:40 I had 8oz of water... 10:00 I had 20 oz of water 12:00 I had 2 thin unsalted pretzels and 12 oz water as of 2:58p I haven't eaten yet... I may try some baked whiting with spinach and will eat my all bran cereal for dinner (I hate going to bed on a full belly it's just horrible) I want to walk for a couple of miles but cannot find the energy... all of my energy is spent getting my house straightened up and getting my 4yr old helper together and we can't forget about the biggest baby (husband)... I have to manage a little better and take care of me... Thanks for listening

Hi, Sounds like you can eat a wide variety of foods already. And, of course every physician/nutritionists program is different. A couple of things I do: Write everything day and keep track of calories and protein grams. I track carbs as Starch and allow myself 2. I measure my food still every day. Peanut butter - how much 1 or 2T, more? Cut out the carbs. Tough one but they make you crave more carbs, cut back the milk to 1/2 C with cereal and try skim or 1%, try cottage cheese and applesauce. Good protein and fiber. I sprinkle cinnamon in it too. Increase the water. I make sure I drink 48 oz good old water. Then I allow myself decaf tea, or I mix 1/3 Fruit 20 with my water. I take in water when I think I'm hungry. And if you are not walking. Walk as much as you can. Start small and increase. It will become fun... promise. If you have a nutritionist plan, go over it daily until it becomes second nature. Best wishes, Lisa

I would suggest you check with your surgeon and nutritionist right away. I was told that items like bread and cereal (the waffle and toast) was something I should not eat (likely never again). It fills the pouch with not very protein rich ingredients (flour, water). Consequently, one is leaving little room for protein and one can fill hungry leading to eating too much or too frequently.
