Hey Marylanders!!!
I normally log into the LapBand Forum, but I wanted to stop by here to say hello! My name is Heather and I live in the Rosedale/White Marsh area. 35, married 11 years, with one daughter who will be 2 in November. I am scheduled for LapBand on 9/14. Hubby was banded on 5/18 (30 pounds down so far). We both see Dr. Schweitzer at Bayview. My husband is banded, but he is not active with OH at all. He pretty much followed my footsteps to surgery. I was really scheduled for 4/25 but had to cancel because I was pregnant at my pre-op. Unfortunately I miscarried, but got right back on track and rescheduled my band. I just want to talk to other Marylanders who are also having/had WLS. And an would be nice too!
Hi Heather,
I think the state forums have been around a while. I know the MD forum was here when I got active on the OH site 2 1/2 or so years ago pre-op. It used to be a very busy board and then tapered off. There is a die-hard group trying to keep it busy once again and we are gaining numbers so please feel free to jump right in.
Hugs, Mo
I've been around for at least a year (probably lurked longer). I thought the state thing was just to find people. Didn't know there was a forum too. They've improved the site a lot too so maybe it just wasn't as easy to find for me before hehehe Anyway, GLAD I DID! I'll be here so count me in the numbers, but NO to the gaining!
Heather
Hi Heather!
I just checked out your profile and girl, you are going to be even more gorgeous after surgery. That's great that your husband did this too..my fiance is not heavy so I have his support but not in the same way. He actually likes big girls and that is the only thing that worries me. lol He swears he will love me no matter what, but I might be in the plastic surgeon's office asking for butt implants this time next year. lol
Hi Deb! Thanks for the compliment, I get that a lot; I of course don't see it though. Never really did, even when I was younger and thinner. That pic is from this past April when we renewed our vows Kylie (20 month old) points at a picture of me at my Mother's house and says "pretty". It's an old glamour shot circa 1990. I was heavy then. I guess since I never really got a lot of male attention in high school and after that I don't think of myself as attractive. But I love my hubby and he's always gravitated toward heavier women (like your husband). I figure that if my marriage is secure now that it won't matter. We went through 9 years of infertility and Floyd stood by me no matter what. I went through the thoughts of how unfair it was to him and that he could have married someone else who could have babies, etc. But it didn't matter to him. He loved me then and he'll still love me when I'm thinner. I just remind him how much better sex will be anyway!
