Hello... Tinkerbelle from VA - Now a Marylander ..
Hi Natalie and welcome to the area! I live in Germantown...but spend lots of time in Rockville and Gaithersburg. Like Leesa, I am a Dr. Greene patient and we have a great support group that meets twice a month...and then we go out for dinner and socializing! Come join us!!
Oh - and it is too bad that the only Walmart is so far a way from you!
Hi Natalie,
Actually if you found Walmart you were in Germantown..... (that store is one of the crappiest Walmart i've seen in the whole country by the way. I even went so far to send an e-mail to corporate about how bad they are.) It's pathetic. BTW in Frederick, MD (just 20 miles up 270) we have two Walmarts. One is slowly becoming a super Walmart but hasn't gotten everything finshed yet. That one is by the FSK mall at exit 31. A few miles up the road on Rt 26 is the 2nd Walmart.
(both of these are nowhere as messy as the one in Germantown (even while the one is under construction.)
You'll really have better luck shopping at Target. Much cleaner, better store. The target near that Walmart in Germantown has a larger grocery selection. (it's not quite like a Super Target)
There are other Target stores closer to Rockville too. There's one in Rio. (the shopping Center you can see from the 370 Sam Eig exit off 270. It's a really cool walking type old town center feel with a Kohl's and some other stores, a B&BW, some restaurants and a huge movie theatre. They have bands outside near the lake in the summer.) There's also a target in the Wheaton Shopping Mall (north on Georgia Ave at intersection with Viers Mills Rd.)
If you need to know where anything else is just ask. I've been down here in MD more than 4 yrs and use to live in Gaithersburg and Germantown.

P.S. There's also a Target (well hidden) off Rockville Pike, behind the Montrose Crossing shopping center just north of Montrose/Randolph Roads (you'll see a Starbucks and Barnes & Noble bookstore from the Pike; the Target is behind that shopping center). It has a small grocery section, though.
Hi Natalie and welcome to MD! Actually the nearest Walmart is in Germantown which is about 20 minutes up 270 from Rockville. There is a support group that meets in Rockville twice a month. It mostly consists of Barry Greene's patients but is open to anyone. You can find more information about it at www.advancedwls.com.
