Hi Lisa, Every doctor is different in their protocol of what to eat when. Personally, I followed my doctor's instructions of what to eat when. Best wishes as your WLS journey continues. Hugs, Mo

Hi, hang in there. I had to eat purred food and I just couldn't do it. I tried, but couldn't. I ended up living off of soup for 2 months. Hang in there, it will go faster than you think.

I'm written and erased my response to this a few times and decided I'd just stick with, NO I haven't cheated. Everything else is probably superfluous and too snarky to be constructive. Good luck with your WL. Kelly

well... all i did was take one small lick of ice cream.... now i'm fine..... momentary weakness there.. as for next week with the pureed foods.. i already know i'm gonna do soups.. i love tomato soup and cream of chicken... and a white bean soup that i just love... after it's all cook with the spices such... put an immersable blender in and go to town... normally i take out about 1/4 cup of beans to re add.. but i won't next week.. so i think i'll be ok with the pureed food... .i might puree some chicken for the cream of chicken soup so i can get tht protein but i dunno yet.. we'll see.. anyways. thanks for the input all.

Lisa, I'm so glad you are doing well so far. How was the surgery and hospital stay for you? Are you still enrolled in the Fall class? I still have to register for that one, but I forget, is it the tuesdays class? As for the cheating, and because we have the same Dr., I can say that I did cheat but only by starting the puree diet a couple of days early. It was 10 days of liquids at the time of my surgery and by day 7, I started on puree. I certainly don't wish sickness on anyone, but try to avoid all "snack" foods like ice cream as long as you can, even if you don't get sick. As you know, I'm 6 months out and I still maintain a sugar free, low calorie diet, not because I still get sick, but because I don't want to take the chance and I don't want to return to old bad eating habits. If you are getting bored with liquids, try puree beans (protein), mashed potatoes, and puree chunky soups. Hope that helps and let me know when you are feeling active again and we'll go walking or something. Roni

That's awesome, I'm really glad everything went so well for you. That's was pretty much the experience I had after surgery. I was groogy more than anything but definately able and willing to move around immediately afterwards. I would have loved to have seen you show up at the meeting but it was probably better to listen to the nurses. Yes, I was speaking of the swim arobics class, I didn't know you had registered for the others and I didn't want to give out too much personal information on the boards unless it was okay. So let me know which night the swim class is on again and you might see me there. I thought you registered for the Tuesday class and unfortunately, I can't make that one anymore. I have to try for a Wed. or Thurs. class. But if that's the case, we can still try to get a walking group together on Sunday mornings, or if you don't already belong to a gym (when you are ready) you can try my gym, I have 3 guest passes. Ladies Total Fitness in Bel Air. Just let me know if you need anything or if you want to get together sometime. Also, since you were not at the meeting, we are doing a scrapbook for Dr. Fullum's office, so when you have some time, email a "before" photo to me or [email protected] and we'll get it in there and add your "after" photo in 3 or 6 months. If you email the picture to Susan (who's actually putting all this together herself) include your name, and surgery date and let her know that you'll sumbit the "after" photo in 3 or 6 months. Roni

Hi Lisa, Every doctor is different with their protocol. I went home from the hospital eating soft/pureed foods, so I didn't have the liquid diet. I didn't cheat because I was able to eat. I ate lots of cottage cheese and regular luncheon cheese (american and provolone were favorites). I hope you get through this phase without too much trouble Take Care, Terry
