FRI-DAY! FRI-DAY! FRI-DAY!
Hey -
IT'S HEEEERRREEE!!! YAY!!! Hope everyone has a great day! The humidity, thank goodness, seems to have left us, at least temporarily, and it's supposed to be a beautiful weekend!
I'm taking Kaity bra-shopping tomorrow - my brother's little girl is growing up so fast! She's not happy about it, but she knows Tia will probably buy her something special, too! Hopefully, it won't be too traumatic for her (me). Brian and Mom are going along too, and so is a friend of Kaity & Brian's, Madison, and her Mom, Shawn, who is their daycare center director. So it'll be just one big party!!! We're going to the Perryville Prime Outlets and probably to lunch at Cracker Barrel. Busy day! On Sunday, I'm going to try to get some stuff done around the house in prep for Dad's surgery on Monday, then I'm going to go to Gary's to go through some boxes of baby clothes. Dawn Sobers' (from the Main Board) daughter is expecting a little Lillian in about 2 months, and we have TONS of baby clothes. I've tried selling them at a consignment shop, and it was a complete waste of time. The clothes are very nice and I'd rather give them to someone who needs them.
Went to dinner at the Olive Garden last night - it was soooo good! Salad, and then I ordered the Chianti Braised Beef Short Ribs with portobello risotto and steamed green beans. I don't normally do too well with beef, but I wanted to give it a shot. OMG! The beef was so tender, and although I don't do rice, I had a forkful or two of the risotto and green beans. Concentrated on the protein, though! Went down just fine! Then, and are you read for this? Dessert (the most important meal of the day), was a new, double chocolate cake w/vanilla cream sauce and strawberries. Very dense and chocolatey and, the best part, IT WAS NSA!!!!! Yay!! It was still so dense I only had about three bites. HEAVEN! Leftovers of the beef today, and I made my friend take the rest of my dessert home with her.
Okay, that's my story. I might try to get out of here a little early today, it's been a LOOOONNNNNGGGG week.
Hope you all have a good weekend!!!
Tia
Happy Friday Tia
I was reading about the 'field' trip to buy Kaity a bra. I'm sure that somewhere along the line .. years from now there will be stories about how Brian was along to help pick it out!
Isn't this weather WONDERFUL !!! After all the yucky days, now we have some nice ones. I've got a meeting 'across' town this afternoon at 2:30 (who in their right mind schedules a meeting at 2:30 on Friday ????) to attend for the boss who's busy attending something for her boss, etc. It's scheduled til 4:30 which doesn't make me a happy camper because I have a hair appointment at 5 and getting over the Severn River at that hour may be a challenge. I'm busy plotting in my head a route that will minimize the time I have to spend on 50. I think I have it figured out, but I'm also hoping we can cut this meeting short.
That beef sounds YUMMY. Last night must have been 'rice' night. I don't have good experiences with rice, but I made chili and Mr Mo likes his chili over rice, so I made rice and had a couple of spoonfuls mixed into my chili. Maybe the trick was that I made sure I had a lot of 'liquid' from the chili soupin' it up. That desert sounds to die for too. Remind me to stay far far away from Olive Garden
We are headed up to NJ tomorrow afternoon. Will probably leave about 2 and get there in the 4 o'clock range and check into our hotel. Races start at 6:30 but I need to catch up with the folks we are meeting to figure out WHERE we are meeting up. The ticket office seems like a good plan! I am hoping this weather holds and we don't get rained out.
I just realized it's a Friday and you are actually in the office .. OH MY !!! You definitely do need to get out of there early.
Hugs & smoochies, Mo
Hey Mo -
Yep, Brian always has ways of tormenting his sister! He definitely can hold his own in that area! Actually, I'm sure I won't hear a peep out of him as long as I let him take his video game. He's very much a homebody, but once I told him there was a Big Dogs store, he decided to go. He's gotten some Star Wars shirts there - "Bark Vader, Jabba the Woof" etc.!!!
You're right - 2:30 on a Friday - WTH???
I like my chili over rice, too, or at least I used to. Once the weather starts getting cooler, I'll have a hankering for chili. The dessert was good - I tried to talk my g/f into sharing, but she wanted her own.
Have a good time in NJ! I think the weather will hold out for you!
The ONLY reason I'm here is because I'm off so much in the next two weeks.
CYA,
Tia
Yippie Yippie Yippie
My 2:30 meeting has been canceled !!!! That means I'll be here in the office the rest of the day, BUT the upside of that is I will be closer to my 5 p.m. appointment.
I checked the weather for NJ and it's supposed to be sunny there too, so we should have a nice night for the races tomorrow night.
Hugs, Mo
Good morning all!!
I love Fridays. Yay!
Well, I wanted to tell y'all about my experience at the fair. I haven't been on fair/amusement park rides in years! I tried to ride a couple of things a few years back at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in CA. Well, after being totally embarrassed because I couldn't fit in a ride I never attempted anything except the kind of ride that has bench seats and nothing that had to fit around my rear. Fairs were especially out because they typically have smaller seats since they are in confined spaces and put a lot of rides into a small area. Anyway, the other night we went to the Howard County Fair. I had a BLAST! I rode the hang-glider and had room to spare. I got on the swings, scared me to death but I FIT!!! On the Tilt-A-Whirl, all three of us fit in the ride, in the past, only one other person could ride with me. Yay! And when my daughter and I rode the track of cars that goes in a circle really fast, well, the bar wasn't so far above her that she was worried she'd fall out!!! It felt great.
The only thing that went wrong was...I came home from work and ate some tortillia chips and cheese. Well never again!!! Just as we arrived at the fair I began to dump. Now I don't throw-up or get diarreha from dumping, at least not right away. But I got really nauseous, shaky and broke out into a sweat!!! It was awful. I had to sit down for about 30 minutes and just try not to fall over. I grabbed water and drank that to help me. What a horrible feeling. I was very weak but I persevered and still had fun. Man, I don't like to experience those things. It's also funny what does it to me and when. I've only had that happen like 4 times. Of course during the night I got the running to the bathroom thing all night.
I finally got some much needed sleep last night and feel great today. I am glad to be feeling so much better. Its amazing what sleep will do for you!
This weekend our wls support group is having a going away party for one of our surgeons. He was the guy who approved me (although he didn't do my surgery). He will be missed. Sunday is church and then housework and rest.
Have a great weekend y'all.
Hugs, Robin
Hey Robin -
Happy Friday!!! Actually, they need a smiley holding a margarita glass - I don't much like beer!
I'm sooo glad the fair was good - ride-wise, sorry you got sick from the chips/cheese. I've had them and not gotten sick, but you know with food, it's a roulette-wheel - you never know. It's a miserable feeling though, isn't it? I actually never eat too much of anything to dump, but I have gotten food stuck, which in my opinion, is 10X worse!
Sleep? What's that??? I never seem to get enough, although now if I'm tired, it's not because of sleep apnea, it's just because of life!!
Have fun this weekend, and I'll be expecting you on Sunday for housework!!!! Don't forget to cook yourself some stuff so you're ready for the week!!!
Have a good one!
