Hi Cindy, I think I purchased a 'sample' pack from Unjury. Please keep in mind though that your tastes may change post op and what you thought was great pre op might not sit so well post op. I never went for the expensive protein supplements. I've used EAS Advantage that I buy in bulk at BJ's (6 pounds for less than $25) both pre and post op. BJ's recently stared also carrying Designer Whey and I've tried that as well. I make an iced coffee shake in the morning with a scoop of protein, 2 tbls of decaf instant coffee, some equal, either 1/3 cup powdered milk or a tablespoon or so of non dairy creamer. I mix all this up with 2 cups of water and a cup of crushed ice. Put it in a shaker cup, and shake. Then I carry it to work. By the time I get to work anything that might not have 'disolved' is all mixed in nicely and I drink it. I am almost 2 1/2 years post op and my doctor mandates 2 protein shakes per day lifetime for a supplement. The whole supplement thing is a volatile subject and each doctor has his own ideas. Best wishes on your WLS journey. Hugs, Mo

Hey Cindy - Yup, Mo's right - www.unjury.com; you can also try www.bariatriceating.com and www.vitalady.com. Don't buy a bunch of stuff because your tastes may change after surgery. My taste, smell and tolerance of texture (weird, I know), changed after surgery. I liked the Creamy Vanilla Isopure, also available at GNC initially after surgery, then I couldn't stand it, nor could I stand any of the other powders. Now, I use EAS Advant Edge ready to drink in French Vanilla as my coffee or tea creamer. It's the only way I can drink it and the only one I can stand. HTH - Good luck! I forgot that I also add some Equal or Splenda to my iced coffee shake thing. Some of the proteins are way too sweet, but I find I need a little extra something to help with the taste. (it might be because I am adding coffee and that is sort of bitter to begin with) Hugs, Mo

Hi Cindy, I purchased a pack with about 20 different samples from bariatriceating.com that came with a shaker. You can also get individual samples from them and at vitalady.com. If you live near a Whole Foods, you can find samples there too. Elizabeth

Cindy Hi, I don't know about samples but I use the Permalean Protein Powder... The vanilla is really versatile... the chocolate is great! I started with this one early post-op. When getting down 4 oz of anything was a chore... With permalean it is 20G Protein mixed w/4 oz water and later FF milk or whatever you imagine can think of... I too do the instant deaf coffee w/water, powder, ice... really yuumy in both the vailla and chocolate... Actually, you could taste test at LifeBridge Health and Fitness. At the coffee bar they make Permalean shakes anyway you want. So, you could tell them one scoop with 4 oz water and ice and they would make... not free but certainly not the price of the permalean... Best wishes, Lisa

Thank you all SOOOOOO much!!! You guys are the greatest!! I've heard that your taste changes after surgery so I'm not gonna buy too much, but I want to at least get a taste of some of them that way I know what I can expect... I heard one lady mixed a little ho****er w/the unjury tasteless powder and added that to her de-caf coffee w/equal and sf creamer... You think this would work? Walmart has a generic brand of creamer that I LOVE, it's sugar free french vanilla, with 1.5g fat per 3tsp, think this would be good to use as well... I'm such a coffee drinker and I know I have to do de-caf for a little while, but ice coffee isn't a fav of mine although I will be trying out the great recipies. Thanks you guys!!!
