Good Monday Morning...Up and At 'em!!!
Good Monday Morning Everybody!
How is everyone today? I'm doing pretty darn good (even for a Monday morning). Yesterday a group of us got together at Arundel Mills Mall (Mo, Teresa E, Pat Spangler, Robin (and her Dad) and myself). We had lunch at the Blue Star Grill, posed for a photo (thanks Mo!) and then the group (sans Robin and her Dad) proceeded to shop until we dropped. It was fun!
Next month we're talking about getting together at a crabhouse. We're not sure which one. Does anybody know of any that have good crabs? If so, we're up for suggestions! We're also talking about going to Sight and Sound in Lancaster, PA for their Christmas Show. Anybody interested? We're also interested in attending some of the fall festivals in the area. Does anybody know any good ones?
Have a Wonderful Day!
Take Care,
Terry
Good Morning Everybody -
I don't WANT to be up and at 'em, but I am. Long day today, working until 5 - ICK! I had a GREAT time yesterday - so nice to have some adult time and not have to worry about ordering chicken nuggets and mac & cheese all the time - even though Robin did order mac & cheese!!! Robin's Dad was a sweetheart, wasn't he? We'll have to make one of our get-togethers at Cracker Barrel - just for him.
Glad my wallet got away unscathed yesterday - it's taken enough of a beating with school getting ready to start. I'm going to eventually have to buy some winter clothes, but I don't want to do that quite yet.
Okay, well, you know my suggestion for the crab house - Blue Fins in Dundalk/Essex - www.bluefinsrocks.com. I have firsthand knowledge that the crabs are good - $25 for AYCE crabs, corn and crab soup. I'm open to suggestions, though. Also, in October, there's Weber's Farm in Parkville - they're a combo apple farm, pumpkin farm, crafts, snacks, bakery, ice cream shop, etc. We usually take the kids as they have a maze, scarecrow making, etc. Always a good time, and admission is free. There's also Valley View Farms in ****eysville, which, for those of you who have never been, has the MOST incredible Christmas displays. It's a tradition for our family to go once or twice during the season. And if we go on a Saturday, there's a huge Pennsylvania Dutch farmer's market next door that has all kinds of goodies.
I realize I'm giving suggestions that are kind of in my neck of the woods, but take the girl out of the area, and I'm definitely out of my element. I am going to look at some bus companies for Sight & Sound, I really do want to do the Christmas Show.
Well, I guess that's it. I'll be trying to wrap everything up this week in preparation for my Dad's total knee replacement one week from today. After that, it'll be helping him recuperate/adjust (keeping me & Mom sane), and then daycare is closed the week before school starts on 8/28, so I'll be busy with the kids. Looks like a busy August, that's for sure.
Again, thanks to everyone who showed up yesterday, we're looking forward to the next one!
Tia
Good morning Terry !!!
I need for you to zip me off an email so I have your address to send you the pics. I've sent them to Tia and to Robin so far. I'm waiting to hear from Pat so I have her address.
I had a great time yesterday. Haven't had a chance to watch the belly dancing video yet. The woman at the booth there said to watch it several times before I tried it. Maybe I'll be more coordinated at belly dancing than I am at line dancing ??? I kind of doubt it.
I thought I was going to be caught in the weather coming to work. I got in the shower late this a.m. and heard the thunder booming. It absolutely poured, but had let up by the time I walked out of the house. I had to run to Super Fresh on my way to get salad stuff for lunch. I did get the boys their cat food yesterday, but didn't stop to pick up my suff. (You can tell who's important in our house).
Mr Mo had mowed the lawn and finished just about all the laundry when I got home yesterday. He's a real prince! (Remind me of that when I complain about him next time ... please .. ) He even put my laundry in a neat (non-wadded up) pile so it wasn't so wrinkled before I folded it.
I had better get my day started here. See you later.
Hugs, Mo
Good Morning.
I didn't want to be up and at 'em either. I had a busy weekend. Didn't get in a nap either day. But that is okay. It was fun and full.
Saturday I went grocery shopping after going to curves. I had to really restock the house. We were down to the bare bones of the food pantry. I didn't spend too much thought so that was good. I had to get some things that I knew would be good for me to eat. I've been struggling with what to bring for lunch. I want stuff that I can enjoy and not feel like I am just eating lunchmeat and cheese everyday. Then I won't be so tempted to eat the food hanging around this place. We watched two movies this weekend - Annapolis and The Second Chance. Both were very good. A friend of mine had a bit of a melt down on Saturday evening. She is seperated from her husband, nearing divorce. He has a girlfriend. He gave their son a picture of Dad with the new girlfriend and that really upset my friend. So I spent about an hout on the phone trying to console her and reminding her that she is better off. Anyway, then we went to a miniture golf place in Severna Park off of Richie Hwy. It was fun. My daughter had fun and that made it worth the trip for me.
Sunday we had a great service at church and then after we went to a friends house for dinner. They live in Westminster. Cute town. We really enjoyed getting to know them better and hanging out. I missed being able to spend time with y'all but I plan on not missing the next one. The Sight & Sound show sounds really good. I love Christmas so that'll be a real treat for me. Teresa has some great ideas too. I am game for anywhere since we don't know this area very well. It'll be fun for me to explore new places.
Well, have a great day everyone.
Hugs, Robin
Hey Robin -
I'll reply on Terry's behalf, she's probably busy at work. I, however, am seriously trying to avoid working. We missed you yesterday! Sorry you couldn't get in a nap - a nap, what's that? The only time I'm free to nap is when I'm sick, and what fun is that????
Sounds like you're a good friend to your soon to be divorced friend - divorce is hard, but even more so when children are involved. It really bites when they become pawns in the game.
Kaity & Brian love mini-golf, and play every chance they get when we go to OC.
Westminster is a great town, I have a lot of friends up there. AND, they have Towne Mall of Westminster, which, hopefully, is becoming revitalized. They used to have a big Pennsylvania Dutch market, which moved to ****eysville, as mentioned in my post about things to do. But it's still a nice town, and beautiful in the fall.
I'm working on some more ideas for things to do. Terry M. and I need to get to Columbia Mall to go to Sephora (makeup heaven!), so maybe we can meet up with you!
Take care,
Teresa
Hi teresa,
My daughter went to Sephora for the 1st time about a week ago. She loved it. Her friends couldn't believe that she hadn't been there before. Now that you've mentioned it too, I'll have to go check it out. I just don't like going to the mall, too crowded and parking is a bear. But maybe I'll get over there early in the AM and miss the crowds.
The Towne Mall in Westminster looked nice. I didn't go there but we drove by it and it peaked my interest. I would love to go to a big PA Dutch market. Sounds fun.
Hugs, Robin
Well I guess I'm awake now, been here for a couple of hours so I should be. I truly enjoyed meeting you ladies yesterday. Thanks so much for the invite. I wish I could have joined you for the remainder of the outing but I'm already in deep doo doo when it comes to missing my nephew(s) birthdays and events. I'm looking forward to the next meeting, hopefully we can get some more of us together even though it was only 5 it was still a nice group. I think the photo's turned out real nice.
Hope to see you all next month.
Robin
Hey Robin -
Ditto as above for responding on Terry's behalf! We were so happy to meet you and Dad yesterday. We'll have dinner at Cracker Barrel one day so we can include him again. We walked the entire mall yesterday, and I didn't spend one $$$$, which is truly a miracle. Everyone else did, though!!!!
Looking forward to seeing you again,
Teresa
