Hello all, I live in Maryland and my surgeon Dr. Harrington performs WLS at both Holy Cross and Washington Adventist. Can someone tell me your experience at either hospital, it doesn't matter who your surgeon was, I want to know how the other staff...nurses, etc. treated you and the atomosphere of the hospital. Thanks Youlanda

Youlanda several years ago I had surgery at Washington Adventist. I loved the atmosphere and the staff. I am certain both hospitals are good.

Youlanda, I am a Harrington post-op who had rny surgery at Washington Adventist June 2004 . . . and tummy tuck/hernia repair at same hospital November 2005. I thought my bad experience during the first surgical stay was a fluke, but when I had to return to WAH for the second surgeries, well, let's just say I wouldn't take my DOG to stay at this hospital ever again LOL!!! If you search this site for Maryland hospital review page, you can see my opinions along with others (some of whom had had more positive experiences than I, fortunately). I have personally spoken with several WAH postops who agreed that the nursing staff (with the exception of one or two really good staffers) were lazy, rude and to top it off the language barrier was huge. My IV pump continued to malfunction and I laid in pain for 24 hours before being attended to . . . I could go on and on about my displeasure with WAH . . . Dr. Harrington was very surprised that I had a bad experience not once but twice. Good luck to you, BJ 300/150 at goal
