Anxious
Good morning to all. Well, 5 more days and I will be on my way to a much desired weight. I am new to Maryland so I don't have any friends as of yet and would like to meet someone to share my ups and downs. Right now I see problems with preparing foods for my husband and son. I don't want them to give up what they like and I don't want to stop preparing their meals but it looks like they are on their own. I am sure they will not mind. It is probably me just thinking they can't survive without me. Any thoughts on this matter? Call me GiGi.
Good Morning Gigi -
If you look at our Good Morning posts, you'll see that I am quite chatty. I'm also willing to share my experience with you, which I'll do by email, that way I don't have to bore anyone but you!!!
What I will say here is that this is a great board, gaining popularity, and I hope that you'll join us often. A friend of mine had his WLS with Dr. Magnuson at Bayview, and he really liked him. He's done well, too.
Well, welcome and be assured that all the emotions you're feeling right now leading up to your surgery are completely normal. I'll email you more some time today!
Take care,

Welcome! Hope everything goes well on the 28th! My BF is a biggggg food fan and he is worried that once I cannot eat one particular food than I won't buy it for him either...I have assured him that this surgery is my choice and that I will have the will power to fix him his goodies while sitting out on them.
It will be tough, but we can do it!
Howdy GiGi!
I had surgery with Dr. Magnusson April 3rd, and yes, his bedside manner does get better in the hospital! I saw him more there than before or since! Make sure you write a list of questions and he will answer them all, but he tends not to volunteer a whole lot. You'll get to know his PA Pat too - a great lady who is very concerned about all of us.
Good luck with your surgery, and I hope to see you at one of the suport group meetings up at Bayview. I'll be mising the August one due to vacation, but I'll be back with bells on for September!

Sorry to take so long to reply, my husband had a liver biopsy yesterday, and I've been a bit preoccupied.
