T. G. I. F.
Good Morning everyone!
Well, I am sure glad it's Friday too. Friday's are always good days.
I am covering a desk today so I actually have work to do. Yay. I am doing my first lunch meeting and have to set up for that. Should be fun to do, especially for my first time. I have help so I know I won't mess anything up.
Please be praying for my husband. He is interviewing for two jobs today. He is retiring from the military and hasn't found a job yet. He's been looking for months now. He has a very specialized field and experience so it has been a difficult search. Yesterday he found out he didnt' get a job that he really wanted. He was so disappointed. He was told that they didn't like the answer he gave to the ? of what his weakness was. This really got him second guessing and doubting himself. I really had to talk him up and reassure him that he is a great person and has great work ethic/character/personality and will truly be an asset to any company that he is hired with. I reminded him that this job just was not meant to be. A better one is around the corner. I don't want him to lack self confidence in today's interviews. Both positions are perfect for him and I know he will do a great job. Anyway, I appreciate your good thoughts and prayers. We really need this!
Well, I missed curves last night. I called to tell my dh that I was going to go right after work. He let me know he had invited a friend over for dinner. So I went home to take care of that. It was a nice evening. We hadn't seen this friend in awhile so it was fun catching up.
Not much planned for the weekend. I plan on getting some serious house work done and maybe even reorganizing the crafts/scrapbooking area of our basement so we can actually use that place to get things done. Might be nice huh.
Okay. I had better go. My kids come home next week! I am so glad. I've really missed them.
Hugs y'all. Have a great weekend.
Robin
Hi Robin,
You are right about the job for your husband, the right one just hasn't come along yet. I remember when my brother was retiring, he traveled all over the US for interviews over the course of several months. THEN, one day in the elevator of the building he worked in right in Crystal City he ran into someone he knew and they were talking. My brother mentioned he was looking for a job and this other person said get me your resume and within a week my brother had a job. It worked out so well for my brother and his family, they were able to stay in Northern Virginia and not have to move away.
When you are done organizing can you come help me ???
Have a fun weekend,
Hugs, Mo
Robin -
I know you'll do fine with the lunch meeting! Do they serve dessert? Sorry, I'm a little obsessed this morning. But my philosophy is, "Life is short, eat dessert, or at least a bite of it, first!!!!!!"
I'll pray to the employment Gods that your hubby gets a great job! I know it's hard, my Mom's been out of work for almost two years, and is just convinced that it's her age (62). Who knows? But it really bites having to interview. Sometimes, the questions they ask are SOOO asinine! I mean, what are your weaknesses? Come on! I think mine would be, "Well, I tend to slap people who ask silly questions!!!" I'm sure everything will work out for you.
Glad you had a nice evening with your friend - if he's single, please share!! Sometimes it's nice to be able to kick back and just relax with people, isn't it?
After you're done at Mo's, I'll be expecting you in Middle River!!!!!
Have a great weekend!

Hey Daniel -
Piggyback away anytime! That's great! I'm so glad you had a good follow up and are seeing awesome results. I don't know if it's true in your case, but as a rule, men seem to lose quicker than women - not that it's any easier, they just make it seem like it! Whatever the reason, keep on plugging and it'll all come off in time!
Take care,
Teresa
