Water Aerobics
Robin,
Last I knew, they offered water aerobics at the aquatic facility near Annapolis. I think that may be like 15 minutes from Gambrills. I think it's on the left of Generals Highway (178) as you head toward the mall.
Anne Arundel County is also constructing a new acquatic facility off of the south bound lanes of Crain Highway (just south of Hospital Drive). I believe that is set to open this fall.

Hi Robin,
I joined the Severna Park Raquetball and Fitness Club. Their pool is very nice and I have been going almost daily. The water is a bit warmer than the indoor pool in Annapolis and it is much less crowded. I guess that may depend on when you go. In any case, it is good. They close the pool for 2 weeks in August:11-24th, I think. Definitely have classes.
Good luck,
Julie
Hi Robin,
Last year until this April for waterr aerobics I went to the Severna Park Racquetball club on Veteran's Highway which is pretty close to you. They have classes everyday except Friday (i think) it was great because they even had tehm on Sat and Sunday mornings.
I lasted almost a year before I quit. (I do go to Curves I started after my surgery Jan 05 and still do that 3x weekly) Next year they'll have the aqua center in Glen Burnie fiinished I think. Glad your surgery went well sounds like you're doing great. I was sorry they stopped the support meeting at Crofton it was really helpful. You're looking great hope you're feeling fine. Hugs, pat
Hi Pat,
I use to go to Curves, but when I mentioned it to my surgeon I got the impression he wasn't thrilled with it. I'm waiting for Severna Park to email back hopefully with what it costs to join them. They have a type of family plan that would work for my Dad and I both. I also miss the Crofton support group meetings as well. It sometimes gets difficult to leave work in time to make the Baltimore meeing at UBMC. I didn't make this past weeks because I couldn't get away in time. If you don't head for Baltimore early it's a pain getting past the stadium.
Hey are you going to try and meet these others on August 6th at Arundel Mills?
Robin
It would take me at least 20 minutes to get to AACC. I'm trying to find something within 10 minutes of my house. There is also a therapeutic pool just 2 minutes from my house that I'm also looking into. I might even just get a heater and solar cover for my above ground pool and use it till there is snow on the ground (now that would be funny mental picture). All depends on the cost to join the gyms.
Thanks for all the inputs, I'll keep them all in mind.
