MDIPA Insurance

Hi Everybody in Maryland, I'm new to this board and had my first vist with Dr. Von Rueden at GBMC. I'm and old gal of 61 , have any of you out there had RNY Lab at this age and how did things work out for you all. Also I have State of Maryland MDIPA Health Insurance because my husband works for the state. I know they are requiring me to do a 6 mo month diet. Love to All, Bobbie

Hey Bobbie - I wanted to say welcome - this is a great board, slowly gaining followers! DVR was my surgeon, and as far as I'm concerned, the BEST and his staff is wonderful!!! There's a support group meeting in his office on 7/26 at 7 p.m., and unless his criteria has changed, I was required to attend at least one pre-op. They're fun and informative, so if you're there, please say hi! Having said all that, I can't really offer any insurance advice. I, too, work for the State, but I have Blue Choice, and they didn't have any strict requirements. I met the BMI criteria, and POOF! I was approved. Hi Bobbie, Same here on the insurance but welcome . I'm closer to your age (56) than either Teresa E or Terry, and today feel every bit of it .. I'm not sure what my issues are today, but I can't wait to go home and just crash. Generally speaking I am lively and active and living a life that 3 years ago would have been impossible. Hugs, Mo
