Happy Thursday!
Hi all my Maryland friends!!!
Happy Thursday to you! I'm hoping for an evening without thunderstorms and power outages myself. I've had two missed nail appointments so far this week because the shopping center where the nail place is located has been without power. Last night the power went out at my house shortly after 5. I ended up going to bed by 7 because it was dark in the house and I couldn't do anything else. I am not sure what time the power did come back on, but I woke up about 9:30 and it was on, I just rolled over and went back to sleep it was too late to do anything else at that point.
Thursdays are my line dancing night, but our DJ/instructor is on vacation this week so I think that we are going to go across the bridge for happy hour at the Crab Deck at Fisherman's Inn. I think that is probably another good reason to hope for no rain.
I had better get busy here. Have a wonderful day!
Hugs, Mo
P.S. the nails have been rescheduled AGAIN .. for Saturday a.m. let's hope nothing interferes this time.
Good Morning everyone. I only have a few minutes before I continue training Day 3 at my new job. I really like the people here and hope that I'll fit in and feel like I finally know what I am doing soon. You know how it is with a new job...feeling like you just don't know what to do or needs to be done.
I have my support group meeting tonight at Walter Reed. I love our group. This is my first meeting having to drive from work in Baltimore to DC. We shall see how it goes. Should be FUN!!! The meeting will be well worth it.
I hope that everyone has a great day! I am ready for the rain to come and go, bringing down this humidity a bit.
I hope your nail appointment sticks this time Mo!
Hugs,
Robin
Hey Robin,
Good morning to you too! I am sure you are going to do just great in your new job. We have a sort of newbie here in our office (well, she's been here since last December I think) and yesterday she made a comment about something and I reminded her that she was becoming self sufficient and wasn't having to ask as many questions as she had in the past. That whole discussion led to another discussion about other jobs and the learning curve and then suddenly coming to the realization that you 'got' it and and didn't feel so overwhelmed any more. I can remember a couple of those 'lightbulb' occasions in my past.
Hope you have our get together on Aug 6 on your calendar!
Hugs, Mo
Hi Mo & Robin -
Yep, looking pretty cloudy in Pikesville! I'm hoping for no rain for my brother - he said there's nothing worse than warm rain, except cold rain!! Poor guy, he comes home every night looking like a dish rag from the humidity, so I guess tonight, he may be a wet dish rag!!
Getting ready for Kaity's bday party on Sunday, went to Party City last night with them after taking them to dinner at Golden Corral (ick!). Bought a couple party favors and some umbrella picks for the beach cupcakes and Brian found a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Halloween costume on clearance for $5!!! Woo-hoo! We added a TMNT sword for $1.74, and we are on our way! Much better than paying the $25-30 that we usually pay!
Mo, happy hour sounds good - have a 'rita for me!!! Gosh, hope you get those nails done! I just do my own - less fuss, less muss and I can use the money for other indulgences - like Starbucks!!!
Robin, good luck on that job training. I'm not sure there's anything in the world that can make a person more nervous than a new job - unless it's a new relationship!
Hope everyone has a good day!
Take care,
Teresa
I remember the days when Mr Mo was a letter carrier .. neither heat nor rain nor snow .. etc .. it's a wonder that they don't collapse from heat exhaustion.
Don't forget pictures of the cupcakes!!!
Mmmmmmmmm.. I wonder if I can get a 'virgin' rita ??? If I am driving I am definitely not having a 'rita ... I have about sworn them off anyway because they seem to have something in common with my getting sick .. but suffering from the insanity that I do, I will be sure to try one again soon JUST in case this time it doesn't make me sick I did buy a bottle of sugar free mix stuff at Bass Pro recently .. now I just need the tequila to put in it.
I haven't the patience or steady hand to do my own nails. By the time I'm finished it looks like I just stuck my fingers in the bottle of polish. But I know what you mean ... my nails are probably good for a week's worth of Starbucks for you.
Well, I think I've been elected to go deliver some bad news to the boss, so I best get with it here. Have a great day!
Hugs, Mo
I know for sure I couldn't do their job. Gary much prefers weather that's 60 degrees or lower!! He'd even take snow over this heat. And it doesn't help that the post office building they're in is about 100 years old, with ac that works when it wants, and windows that don't open. Talk about a living hell!!!!
Okay, do a virgin 'rita. If not, just have some ice water w/lemon - but have a great time with your friends!!!
I've gotten pretty adept at doing my nails, I can pretty much give myself a complete mani - base coat, two coats of color and quick-dry top coat in about 30 minutes. To top it off, I usually do it right before I go to bed, and as long as I use quick-dry top coat, no sheet marks!
Yep, I'm taking two disposable cameras on Sunday, so I'll bring pictures on 8/6!!!
Hope the boss doesn't kill the messenger! Good luck.
T.
