I'm going a little nuts here! Lol, I went through the entire pre-op process with Dr. Wynn in Newark, DE only to have my insurance change! The new insurance is actually better with what it covers, but I can't seem to find an in-network surgeon in Delaware. So I checked out the Delmarva Bariatric Center, and the surgeons there seem to be in-network. So, any experience with this center and/or the doctors? I'd love to hear some feedback...or if anyone else has recommendations regarding surgeons who are covered under United Healthcare, let me know! Thanks!

Hi Phoebe I had my surgery with Dr Mike (Sofronski) in March 2004. Dr Scott (Bovard) only joined the practice about a year ago and I really don't know him at all. I love Dr Mike. He's a tough task master and doesn't tolerate nonsense, but you know that he really cares about his patients and their health. I have only been to their new offices (for my two year follow up) one time since they moved but they seem to have a wonderful facility there. I was only something like patient #125 or so, and I realize as the practice has grown the way things are handled may be somewhat different, but my entire pre-op and follow up experiences with Delmarva Bariatric were great. Dr Mike is the director of bariatrics at Pennisula Regional Medical Center. My experience at PRMC was also first rate. The nursing staff I came in contact with had a high degree of respect for Dr Mike and seemed to go out of their way to treat his patients well (or at least that was my experience). Best wishes on your WLS journey where ever it takes you. If you chose Dr Mike I think you will be making an excellent decision. Hugs, Mo
