Good morning Maryland !!!
Happy Tuesday everyone!
I have a racing chat friend who every Tuesday morning reminds me that 'nothing matters but the weekend from a Tuesday point of view' .. I'm not quite sure what that means .. I think it's from a song or something, but it's become a tradition with us that he passes on this bit of wisdom. It's such an ingrained thing that if for some reason I'm not around on Tuesday morning in chat before work, he will drop me an email with those words. So, I think I'll begin to pass on my Tuesday point of view to y'all each week.
I hope everyone has the kind of day they need to have .. they can't all be good ones but we can make the best of what we have.
Hugs to all, Mo
Morning Mo!
I'm back to work, and consequently, back to the computer. I have dial-up @ home, so I don't use that too much, I wait till I get to use work's high-speed - much, much nicer!
Had a couple of days off, busy days, too! On Friday, Mom & I ran some errands and then went to see Over the Hedge - I had already seen it, but she hadn't - we loved it! Then on Saturday, we went to Vaccaro's Italian Pastry Shop in Little Italy, and shared half a piece of chocolate cannoli cake - yum! And since I ate such a little bit, I didn't get sick. Then, and we really need to get a life, because this was a big adventure for us, we went to the Walmart Supercenter in Aberdeen!! YEE-HA! It actually was nice, and we found some really good deals, but seriously, I need to get a life!!!! We ate dinner at Cracker Barrel, which, IMHO, is not WLS-friendly, but I got the grilled catfish - yummy! On Sunday, I met my bgf for coffee, yes, at Starbucks, then went to a birthday party for a friend of Kaity's at Jeepers - kind of a Chuck E. Cheese on crack, then met another gf for steamed crabs - yummy again! Had to put my car in the shop on Monday, and then Mom & I took Gary, Kaity & Brian to dinner at the Double-T - good food, but the portions are TOO big, and I'm not a big fan of leftovers post-op!
Not sure I understand the Tuesday quote, either, but it feels like a Monday to me!
Oops, looks like the power's gonna go here - that happens a lot! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Looking forward to August 6!!!!!
Have a great day!
XOXOXO,
Teresa
Morning all. I've been reading these posts for the past couple of weeks and thought I'd say hey. I'm back to work this week and we're dealing with two sick kids at home. Yea! Been working out in the morning before work the past couple of days. Hope I can make it a habit. Hope everyone has a great one!

Hey Daniel -
Welcome! Glad you decided to join in this morning. Maybe you can join us on 8/6, too! Glad your recovery has been going well so far. Sick kids are no fun, actually, it makes going back to work look like a walk in the park!!!! Good for you on working out - I SO need to get back to that - it helps both physically and mentally!
Take care,
Teresa
Well, I see by your profile that you're happily married, but we'll let you join anyway!! Just kidding!! Me, Terry M., Mo & Karen D. had a little get-together at Casa Mia's in White Marsh in June. Just dinner, conversation and a trip to Starbucks afterward. We talked about - what else? WLS! Other gender-neutral topics, too, but it was fun and interesting comparing everyone's journeys.
Our next get together is planned for August 6 at Arundel Mills Mall at noon-ish - lunch, walking around, talking, etc. We eventually, I'm sure, will include spouses/so's, but so far, it's been a getting to know you kind of thing. All are welcome - pre-ops, post-ops, non-ops, etc.
You are welcome to join us - we love new friends!
Keep watching the boards for updates as 8/6 gets closer!
Teresa
Hey T
Sounds like you have a life to me ... I'm exhausted just reading your post!!! And don't knock Walmart ... My week is not complete without a trip to Wally World .. and we don't even have a Supercenter close by ... I have to go to Glen Burnie or Bowie to a Walmart or if I am REALLY adventurous cross the bridge and go to Easton .. but I save that for a day when I want to go to the Outlets in Queenstown.
I've seen Jeepers, but not ever been in one .. I've actually never been in a Chuck E Cheese either .. I live a charmed life
Leftovers are my life .. I generally try to order something that I think will be good leftover because I am pretty sure I'll be carrying a good bit home with me.
Ok, time to get with it here. Talk to you later. ...
Hugs & smoochies, Mo
Mo -
You're right, I do have a life, and most of the time, I'm happy, but sometimes I want to be selfish, you know? And that's not my nature, I'm a nurturer, sometimes to the exclusion of my own needs. Just a weekly trip to Walmart? I'm there probably 3-4 times a week, seems like my brother always needs something (see what I mean?), and now that I can fit into their clothes, I hawk their plus size dept. I don't like all of their stuff, but if you look closely, they have some things! The prices at the Super Walmart were good - we got peaches for $1.24 a pound, when they were running $2.65 a pound here. Found some good s/f coffee syrups, too - Kahlua flavored - YUM!!!
Jeepers - well, the best way to explain it is to put a small arcade and a small amusement park together, add screaming, running, crying children, throw in frustrated parents, add some lethargic, rude workers, and there you have it!!! Actually, it's not bad, and they have an area where parents (or aunts!) can sit while the little darlings run wild!!! Kaity's bday party is there on Sunday - two weeks in a row - I can't wait. It can get kind of expensive, too - all of the games take tokens, which, of course, you have to buy there!! The food (Pizza Hut pizza) is pretty expensive, but for birthday parties, you can take your own cake. Since Kaity wanted originally to have a pool party, which was nixed by the leaking roof, I thought I'd do her cupcakes in a beach them. So, once they're frosted, I'm going to put blue sugar crystals (water) on them, with a drink umbrella and some gummy fish. I'm also going to do some where I cut Fruit by the Foot into little squares, plop a Teddy Graham on top like he's sunbathing, and add an umbrella. My idea sounds cute, let's just hope it turns out as well!!! Lord deliver me - I have work to do and I'm talking about sunbathing teddy bears!!!!!!
Chuck E. Cheese is more for the smaller kids - no rides, but same insanity level.
For some reason, I can't stand the sight/smell of leftovers, particularly if I've just eaten. I try now to share a meal with Mom or Kaity - better for all of us!!!
XOXOXO,
T.
