Hi Anne, I know exactly where you are coming from I was a smoker for 13 years. I went to my doctor after many failed attempt cold turkey and she put me on zyban after a cuople days I was good. No Cravings. But then it was the physical part. What to do with my hands. So I went threw alot of Sugar free popsicles. Just keep telling yourself why your quitting and you will be allright. I have been smoke free for 3 weeks and feel better on that end. Today I have my surgery 7/10/06 and soon will feel better on that end as well. Good Luck to you. You can do it. Sincerely Kelly Wheeler

Hi Ann, I smoked for 27 years. Fortunately, I had been smoke free for over 12 years when I had my surgery, but I know it's not an easy thing to quit. Keep the faith!!! You can do it. Best wishes as your WLS journey continues. Hugs, Mo

I'm a little late posting! I quit smoking for 3 weeks, 2 before and 1 after the surgery. It was the hardest thing I have ever done! But, unfortunatley I started again as soon I was feeling better. I hope your surgery went well! Keep us posted. Danielle
