I guess it all depends on what your surgeon/nutritionist tell you you should be eating after the surgery. I was on clear liquids for two weeks which meant diluted apple and grape juice, diluted gatorade, and chicken broth as my only source of calories. I had plenty of that on hand and it was great. Except I now won't touch chicken broth with a ten foot pole. A king size or body pillow to hug while you're laying on your side in bed is nice. Helped me prop up my stomach and didn't irritate my staples. Flavored water. I'd never done it before, but I like the change of pace now. Sugar free popcicles are nice too. Honestly Carla you will likely be so surprised by how not hungry you are. I still can't believe that I haven't felt a pang of hunger in over two weeks. I eat on a schedule now and it's fine. I've had no real hunger and only a couple of instances of "head" hunger. The one thing I wasn't expecting after surgery was the pain in my abdomen and incision made it impossible for me to put on my socks and shoes. Someone about to help you with that would be righteous especially in the beginning. Okay, now I'm rambling.
