HI Everyone! I'm looking to connect with some other folks to share experiences and support. I am in Glen Burnie. My surgery is in 2 weeks July 20th at University of MD with Dr Kligman. Getting nervous and excited to start this new journey! I have family support but could sure use some friends along the way . Have a Great weekend! God Bless, Kathy

Hey Kathy. If you're typical you will go through the following emotions: Excited, nervous, thrilled, angry, weepy, anxious, full of doubt about whether this is the right decision, convinced this is the right decision. And you will likely go through all of those in the next hour alone. My time leading up to surgery was filled with tons of emotion and lots of eating and then being sick of food. Remember, you do get to eat after the surgery. Your portions will be smaller, but you will not care because you literally will not be hungry. I know it sounds weird, but it really is true. Good luck in the days leading up to surgery. It's about to get so much better. -Daniel

Kathy I live in the Baltimore area. If I can be of any support please feel free to contact me. My email is [email protected]. I have lost 124 lbs and am 2 1/2 years post-op. I am still slowly losing and getting closer to my personal goal. I began my reconstruction journey - phase one as my Dr. calls it - on June 1st. Will have round two next summer. I am more than willing to share. If you email me, I will gladly share my phone number with you. Daniel's words are so very true. Hang in there. It is an awesome journey. Debra

Kathy! Best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a very speedy recovery! Teresa has been working hard to keep a group together for monthly to every 6 weeks or so get togethers. We were in White Marsh in early June and are getting together at Arundel Mills on August 6th. Keep watching the board here for details. Hugs, Mo
