got my approval!
Hi everybody,
I have my insurance approval, finally. I am going to meet with Dr. Li on July 19th (sooner if I can get in on a cancellation!). I hope to have the surgery asap after my meeting with her.
I am suffering from meralgia paresthetica, an inflamed thigh nerve caused by overweight. The pain is unbearable and I know that weight loss is the only cure for it. I am eager to get the surgery for that reason and many others. Some days the pain brings me to tears but I know, at last, that relief is around the corner.
I have been reading the board daily and am finding that it is a huge encouragement to me. Thanks to all for sharing your strength and hope withme. I need it.
Julie
Julie -
Yay! Doing the happy dance for you! I, too, had nerve problems in my thigh, it would tingle, burn and go numb if I stood or walked too long. My doc at the time said that I could probably relieve some of it by losing 15-20 pounds. I went on WW and lost 55 pounds, and guess what? IT DIDN'T GO AWAY! They ruled out MP, but I have to say that I got no relief until after WLS. No more pain! It's a wonderful thing!
Here's hoping that it will help you too! Good luc****ep us updated - we're here for you!!!!
Take care,
Teresa

Hi Tina,
I was so encouraged by your reply! The time factor for me is crucial so I am hoping for a cancellation too. Sounds like you are doing wonderfully. I am starting to get psyched!
I was very impressed with Dr. Li at Sinai's seminar. She was smart, funny, compassionate. I am looking forward to working with her.
Thanks,
Julie
