Good Wednesday Morning!!!!
But it feels like MONDAY - WAAAAHHHH! Started my morning off with a getting-flat tire so my DD (Dear Dad), took it to get air in it for me - love the man!!
Hope everyone had a great 4th! We grilled out at my brother's so we could go in his above ground pool afterward - it was great, the water felt like bath water. Also, a WOW for me, I could climb the ladder and not worry that it would crack, break, etc.! I also floated on a raft, while listening to the soothing sounds of, "Kaity, stop!" and "Brian, don't!" Gotta love 'em! They can't live with/without each other! I believe that my next kid-free day off during the week will be spent lounging in the pool. We stayed there until about 6:30 - I let my brother nap for about 2 hours, God knows after working in the heat, he needs it! Then we went home and putzed around and went to bed. No fireworks for me, but poor Molly the Beagle was a little freaked out by all the noise, poor thing, she didn't used to get scared so easily, but I guess now that she's getting older (she'll be 10 in November), it gets to her more.
This morning, I sit with bated breath waiting for the "new" girl to start on our floor. I say new in quotes because I worked with this girl about 10 years ago for about 2 years, we shared an office and did NOT get along. She was very nosy and aggressive, which is not to be confused with assertive. I'm generally a private person unless I really trust someone, and I DON'T like someone in my business. I specifically recall a conversation where she overheard me calling in a refill for bc pills and asked why I was on the pill if I wasn't married or seeing someone! WTH????!!!! Big cat fight. Now she's going to be working in the position I last held before I started working for the Colonel, and thank goodness, our office is kind of isolated now, behind glass doors, which kind of deters visitors. We'll see! I hate to think that I'm going to have to start drinking *****berry Kool-Aid (s/f of course), but I'm already dreading this. But people can change right? Um, actually, I believe that leopards never change their spots, but who knows? Thank God for Effexor XR and private offices!
So, remember the softball skating party where I was hesitant to take Brian, who can't skate because Kaity, who also can't skate, broke her arm previously? Well, I'm sorry to say I was right!!! Once Brian's mother got there (aka Mother of the Year), she put his 4-wheel skates on him and he was good to go. Actually, these skates are pretty cool, they allow kids who can't skate to learn much easier. I then left, because she and I don't see eye to eye, and my brother promptly called me and said that while they were skating together, Brian had fallen, pulled his mother on top of him and was squashed like a bug! Now, Bubba weighs all of 42 pounds, his mother, about 190. When I say she squashed him, I mean it! She landed with all of her weight right on his belly! Of course, she felt bad, and he was screaming like no one's business. He kept saying his belly hurt, and we were seriously concerned about cracked ribs or internal damage, so off to the ER they go! Fortunately, no damage, by the time they got home, he was laughing and had ketchup smeared from one end of him to the other! THANK GOD! Um, can you say "No more Skateland?!!!" My nerves can't take any more trips there!!!
Okay, enough about me! Thanks for letting me whine/vent! I hope everyone has a great day! Since I didn't post on the 4th, I hope everyone takes a moment today to think of our men and women in the military. Whether or not you agree with this war, they need our support, thoughts and prayers. We are so fortunate to have all that we do, and it's because of them!!!! GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!!
Take care,
Teresa
Good morning Teresa
Wow, you had an eventful 4th We got sort of a late start, didn't get out of the house til 11-ish to go to breakfast, then went over to Arundel Mills and hit Walmart and walked a lap of the mall. I couldn't get past Old Navy without stopping and of course had to buy something Stopped at Super Fresh on the way home to buy burger rolls and some tater salad. We were home about 4 and by 5 the 'rains' had started. We have a satellite dish so when the weather is funky we have no reception. For the better part of the two hours between 5 and 7 we missed HUGE chunks of the Monk marathon on USA network
I soooo want to get our pool open. It's been several years since we have had the cover off of it, and the cover has slipped so there is junk (aka leaves and stuff) in the pool that needs to be scooped out. I guess I need to bite the bullet and just work on it. Or fill it in .. mmmmmmmm.. I REALLY don't want to do that .. Our pool water never warms up. We don't get enough sun on the water surface during the day so when we have had it open, it's really been pretty refreshing.
Ok, time to get with it here. Talk to you soon .
Hugs & smoochies

Hey Mo -
Good morning! Yep, a busy 4th, but a busy day at home is better than a quiet day at the office!!!! Shopping, one of my fave activities!!!! I can't really get into Monk, although I may give it a try again. I do LOVE Law & Order SVU though - I'm a junkie!
The pool was nice, but you're right, it's a lot to maintain. My brother has this cool pool vac that pretty much cleans it by itself - now if I could just bring it into the house!!!
Gotta get working, too! Have a wonderful day!
