Megan - Sorry, can't help you with the geography, since I'm neither a spouse nor military, but I just wanted to extend my good wishes to you! Hope everything goes well and that you have an uneventful surgery and recovery. Take care, Teresa lap rny 8/2/05 - 370/236/170

Hi Megan, just wanted to drop in and wish you luck on your banding. We're down by PAX River, so, no need for the Ft. Meade thing. Keep us updated on your recovery. TraciL

HI Megan. I live in columbia, only 15 minutes from ft meade. I attend the meetings at walter reed. We have a great group but I do understand about the distance. I am not sure if I have met you there or not. I had rny in March. I know that you'll do great. Is Dr. Carmody doing your surgery? Have you joined the angels website yet? It's also a great way to keep in touch with the group at WRAMC. I would love to meet you and help encourage you. It has been a hard but rewarding 3 1/2 months. I am sure that you will do fine. You need to stay on top of the ward nurses at WRAMC. They can get busy and at night sometimes lazy. Although they were all great with me, but they do have their moments. you can contact me via email at [email protected] or even call me in the evenings at 410-772-0622. It would be great to support each other. Call me soon. Hugs, Robin

Hi Megan, Congratulations on your surgery...hope everything went smoothly and your recovery is easy. Not in military or spouse but live close to Ft Meade. If you start a group I'd come.....there were a couple support groups I was going to locally one in Pasadena and one in Crofton but they both have stopped (Crofton maybe only for the summer they weren't really clear on that). I go to Baltimore to Hopkins Bayview for support meetings and it's as far as going to Walter Reed and a long trip. If you do get one started let me know please. My e-mail is [email protected]. WELCOME to the losing side!!!! I'm a year and 5 months out. Support groups really help!! Again congratulations!! hugs, pat
