Good Thursday Morning from Baltimore!
Well, actually, Pikesville, since that's where I'm sentenced to spend my days!!!
Hope everyone is well. Today's a short day for me, I'm leaving at 1 to pick up Kaity and Brian from summer daycamp, and then we're running some errands before going to Kaity's end of season softball party at Skateland. Never mind that none of us can skate! The first time Kaity went skating, she said, "I can skate!" and promptly broke her arm! That'll teach my brother to listen to her! I tried to tell him that she couldn't, but NOOOOO, big sister knows nothing! Hopefully, this will be different! Now Brian is saying, "I want to skate," and when I pointed out that he doesn't know how, he said, "So? I still want to skate!" Lord deliver me! I think I'll look into lessons for both of them while we're there.
I'm considering taking off tomorrow - I need to have some bloodwork done and I want to take my Mom to see "Over the Hedge." I saw it with the kids, but she hasn't and really wants to! I loved it, although a lot of the humor was lost on the kids. It was kind of sarcastic humor, which fits me to a T! Since I really don't like my job, and get about 6 weeks of leave a year plus comp time, I use any excuse I can to take off! I know, bad Teresa! But I can't help it - instead of feeling like a member of the staff, I feel like "staph." Okay, I'll stop whining.
We have the kids on alternating Saturdays since my brother works 6 days a week, and this is our Saturday. I think we're going to go to see "Garfield 2," since I'm sure neither their back yard nor the playgrounds will be dry any time soon! Sunday is a day of rest, and I'd like to take off Monday, but THE SUPERVISOR took off and someone has to be here. Stupid - I think all State and Federal holidays should be Monday or Friday, to automatically ensure a long weekend!
Okay, so what's everybody's plan for the weekend and the 4th? Any new loves, old loves, WOW's, NSV's? Anybody need to vent? Yesterday there was infighting on the Main Board; hopefully, there won't be today. People need to get a life if this board is their life - don't get me wrong, I love it, but there is more to life than being offended by people you don't even know and may not even meet! Okay, stepping off my soapbox!
So have a great day! HELP ME LIVEN UP THIS BOARD!!!!

Good morning Teresa
My day is off to a good start ... NOT .. For three days I've dressed to crawl around under desks moving PC's and stuff and I figured that I was done so I 'dressed up' just a bit today. Fortunately, I wore a gaucho skirt and not the shorter skirt that I had planned to wear, because I was back under a desk this a.m. almost first thing .
Now I've got a ticket in to the help desk for someone else's puter that is being stupid. I am thinking it's a case of operator error to some extent, but I can't say that.
I would LOVE to take Monday off, but there is one department head and 3 managers here and 2 of the managers are off, so that leaves me and the dept head to hold down the fort But at least Monday should be a quiet day.
I think Mr Mo is working Saturday and is off on Monday, so our weekend will be Sunday and Tuesday. I've got some running and errands I should probably do on Saturday since I've been gone the last 2 or 3 weekends. I've really lost track. It seems like ages since I've been home though. Of course if something fun comes up to do, I'll be off like a prom dress and forget about being home
I need to know . what is an NSV ??? I've seen that expression and haven't a clue.
And we do need to LIVEN up this board because the main board is getting to be a real not so fun place to be lately .
Talk to ya later! Hugs & smoochies, Mo
Morning Mo -
Sorry your day is crawling! Thank goodness for gauchos! But who'd ever thought they'd be back in style? They make my bottom half look wide and I don't need that kind of help!
Our Help Desk works under the supply vs. demand rule - we need them, they don't need us, and so on. So good luck with that!!!
I'm hoping Monday will be quiet here, too. We'll see. Errands are wonderful, aren't they? Although, even when I spend all day running errands, I manage to squeeze in something for me, like lunch or tea at a tearoom (one of my faves), or just a trip to Starbucks. Sometimes I just need the solitude of a coffee and newspaper. I'm easy to please, but definitely not cheap!!!!
An NSV is a non-scale victory - like fitting on a ride, in a booth, etc., a WOW without the numbers, if you will.
I agree, this board is snoozy. I haven't heard from Karen Duncan since that Sunday, so Karen....if you're out there, let us know!
I'll try to do Good Morning on Friday, but if I don't, feel free!
Have a great one!
Teresa
I know how you are about Starbucks SB still intimidates me!!! When the end of that gift card I have comes I think I'll be done with Starbucks. I much prefer Wawa ... at least I know what I want there and can fix it myself ..
My IT person has been down to see me already, but I've had to send a frantic e-mail on something else that I thought worked, that isn't working now The way things happen in this office ... we can plan all we want .. but when the crunch comes something is NOT going to work right
Hugs, Mo
Starbucks is NOT scary!!! No need to ! In fact, it took me a while to say, (deep breath), "Venti Non-Fat 7 Pump S/F Vanilla Latte!!!!" I mean, you can still say, "Venti Decaf," and get coffee, but where's the fun in that? Since they're so $$$$$, and depending upon what you get, high in carbs, it's still only a treat!!! Next time, I'll hold your hand and order you a Mocha Frap Light, which is the milkshake looking thingie I got last time. It'll be okay, I promise.
Fortunately, in our office, being as high up on the totem pole as we are, the only time there's a crisis is when someone's involved in an accident or worse (God forbid), or when Bob's office calls - Bob as in Ehrlich. We try to stay on top of things so they don't have to call, but you know, poo happens! And I don't mean the yellow bear!
XOXOXO,
T.
Yep, they're my faves! I get my teas from Baltimore Coffee & Tea Company in Lutherville. They have a great selection of flavored teas in tea bags, 'cause I have no patience for the loose-tea process!!! I get the vanilla chai tea, add some s/f vanilla syrup and my EAS Advant Edge French Vanilla protein drink as a creamer. Feels like I'm cheating, but I'm not!
We'll have to make that a stop when you're on this side of town - it's cozier and less intimidating to Starbucks-newbies!!! Also, I hear there's a tea room in Annapolis - Reynolds Tea Room, I think? Maybe, if you're interested, we can make that a stop one day!
Gotta run - leaving to pick up my babies! Will talk to you 2morrow!
