I'm BAAAACK!!!!
Hey all -
Back from the beach! We had a blast, although I have to say it was not relaxing, not even a little bit! It was constant go, go, go! Kaity & Brian wanted to ride everything, play everything, eat everything and do everything! Which is normal when you're 10 & 6! It truly was THEIR vacation, which is fine - my Mom and I are scheduled to go to CT in October and NYC in December, so that'll be our time.
Wanted to pull my hair out a little, though, because all they did, besides spend my money, was fight!!!! They can't live with or without each other! Again, all normal, but I was glad to have a few moments to myself on Friday at Walmart, of all places!
The weather was great, it only rained on Friday and on the way home Saturday. I was so happy that I was able to ride rides with them. I was always worried when that safety bar came down, but it always made it!! WOO-HOO! That was one of my biggest post-op goals! Kaity and I rode the Hurricane, similar to the Himalaya, and let me tell you, it sure felt different than when I was 15! OMG, it went so fast that I thought my neck was going to snap! But it was great! All three of us rode the Rockin' Tug, which was a tug boat that went sideways and back and forth! I kept saying to my brother, "I fit! I fit!" Truly a WOW for me!
Did some shopping, got a great dress at Dress Barn Woman outlet in Rehobeth, and a jacket at London Fog, got my ears repierced at my second hole, had two rings resized (from 9 to 6 and 6-1/2)!!!! Had some good food - crabs, fish, shrimp, had some ice cream (just a little!), had some pizza, some Thrashers - again, all just a little! Walked a lot, didn't sweat hardly at all (another HUGE accomplishment), and although the scale says I gained 2 pounds, it could be the 2 pounds that I've been ping-ponging with for the past 2 months!
All in all, a great time, and now I'm back at work, waiting for the fluorescent lights to suck the tan off of my body!!!!!!
So what's new? Any scoops? WOWS? Do tell!!!!!
Have a great Tuesday!
Teresa
Hey there Teresa
It's about time !!! I've been waiting impatiently for the vacation report. Sounds like it was a blast.
I had a good trip to CT that first weekend you were gone then to NJ/PA this past weekend. I'm actually looking forward to staying home this coming weekend. I'm sure I'll find things to do to get out of the house, but I'm not traveling anywhere. I have to work on Monday, so no long weekend for me (the other 2 managers are off and it's my turn to hold down the fort).
Don't let that scale rule you! Just get back into the swing of things and get your liquids and vitamins and exercise and it will all fall into place.
Hugs, Mo
Thanks Mo! I won't lie and say it's good to be back, because it's not, but it is good to reconnect with the MD board!
So glad you had a good time back home, hope your parents are doing well! I have to work on Monday, but a quiet office can be a good thing - as you well know! Mom & I are thinking of taking a bus trip to Mystic in October, $$$$ depending. I've never been up north, and since I'm a fan of cold weather, yes, even now, I can't wait!
I SURE didn't miss Mr. Scale while I was gone, but I need it to keep me in check. I have to confess that I was good about my protein while I was gone, but not as diligent about my water. Back on track, now, though. My year is coming up quickly, and I want to lose this weight!!!!!!
Missed ya!
Teresa
Hey You!
Glad to hear you had a great vacation I hear ya about fitting into rides. I haven't gone anywhere to do that yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
That's great about the clothes...I've turned into a shopaholic within the past 3 months...can't get enough clothes, shoes or purses...and I was bad with the shoes and purses before...hehe.
Hey, what happened to those tan towels? Won't they counter-act the lights?
Mo's right, just keep up with the protein, supplements and water and it'll keep coming off (Now if I could just follow my own advice...hehe) Lost 7lbs within the past 2 weeks and now I'm stuck again. Oh well...just have to lose 5 more lbs to meet my surgeon's 1 year goal. 41 until the final goal...you'll get there too!
I just had surprise company the past 2 days. My Aunt and Uncle and Cousin visited. We went to Washington DC yesterday. It was fun. Nothing new other than that.
Hope you're having a great day!
Hugs,
Terry
Hi Honey!
Sorry I didn't call you before I left - bad Tia!!!! The rides were great - if a little puke-inducing! But what a thrill!!
Actually, you turned me on to Dress Barn Woman - so it's your fault. But I got a great dress for a retirement party next month - ticket price said $60.00, but I got it for $25.95!!! WOO-HOO!
You're doing so well - we're definitely going to have to celebrate our 1 year together!!!!
Glad you had fun with the company! I'm sure DC was easier walking now minus the excess weight - isn't it amazing how much people take for granted? Like walking and not sweating?!!!
We'll talk soon!
Love ya,
Tia
