Hi all, Just wanted you to know that I got my insurance approval letter!!! It only took 4 days to approve and about the same for me to get it. The date is set for July 11th 2006 at 8am. The only thing I am worried about is I had a cigarette while out partying with friends, I was drunk and didn't even know I smoked one until the next day. That is when I got the call from Eileen that I could move my date up and to get my blood work done ASAP. So I did it the next day. I am pretty sure she can tell the difference between 1 cigarette and someone who smokes all the time though, do you think? I haven't had one since, so I assume I should be okay when I have the test on the 6th July for my pre op and the morning of surgery. I am really only a social smoker anyway and don't need to smoke, I hope that this doesn't blow my chances. Anyway, I guess there is nothing I can do about it now except contiinue to not smoke. If she says something about it at my visit, then I will ask her to test me right then and there and see what happens. Thanks all See you on the other side soon, I hope!!!! Kymme

thank you, I am praying for the same thing. The only other surgery I have ever had is a C-Section. Right now though, I am trying to get my nerves under control for the EGD, I am not fond of having things stuck down my throat!!!! Kymme

Good luck with the EGD. I had one done where they could not sedate me because my blood pressure was too low, but the next two after that, I don't remember a thing!!! Hugs, Mo

Hi Kymme, Congrats to you...your journey continues.... On the cigarette issue, I don't smoke, but I doubt ONE smoke 3 weeks prior to surgery is going to make a difference, especially since you don't smoke....I think I would forget about it.... Best wishes and keep us posted, RAE

Hi Kymme I was a smoker and it was very hard to quit my surgeon told me I had to quit a month before my surgery and my surgery is July 10th. Well I tried cold turkey and it didnt work so a week ago I saw my doc and she prescribed me a pill and on the second week i was to take 2 pills and stop smoking and I have been smoke free since Saturday night and I have 2 weeks left and my pre-op appt was last thursday and my doctor didnt have any problems with it. So since your a social smoker you will be allright Good luck with your surgery Take Care Kelly

That is what everyone keeps telling me, so I have to assume that it won't be a problem, I can't do anything about it now so I just have to deal with it when it comes. Thanks Kymme

Hey girlie, Long time, no hear!! Are you going on July 3rd to the seminar?? I hope your appointment goes well. I will be still at the hospital on the 12th. You should be scheduled pretty quickly after that, although Dr. Gandsas' schedule might be different to Dr. Li's. Anyway, I hope to hear from you soon Kymme
