Hi all, I had my surgery at 9:30 AM on Friday, June 16, 2003. 45 minutes ahead of schedule, so my husband, who was dropping off the kids, missed me going in. It was OK because we say our goodbyes when he dropped me off Anyway, my surgery went great But the pain that gas a bloating causes is unbelievable I called the nurse every few hours for my morphine and had no regrets. My doc usually kicks you out after one night, I got to stay two and didn't go home until it was time to kiss the kids and send them to bed on Sunday night. I really needed that extra day, it helped me sooo much. I feel good today. Didn't even take any Tylenol. I've been out everyday Monday, I went with my hubby to take the kids to camp and get those supplies I just never got around to buying. I even took my daughter to a doctor's appointment. Got home and jumped through the bed Today was a little slower. I went to see my endrocrinologist. I'm down 11 pounds. Not too shabby My energy level is good. I played with the kids, cleaned out my car and washed its windows. I might get a little rest on Wednesday. Thursday I go for my follow up appointment. I'm ready to chew, but slurping is what I do Good night for now. EW

Sounds like you are doing great! Be careful that you don't over do it though!!! Listen to your body and get enough rest. I so know the 'chew' thing. I was excited when I could go to mushed up stuff and then FINALLY something to really chew. Hugs, Mo

Hello EW My surgery was friday as well at 12:30-- I had lap band and am feeling great as well-- i am down 10 pounds and my energy has gotten a lot better since i have been able to add the protein shakes. I make sure i go out every day and get some air-- to day i drove my car because i am virtually pain free-- i find that i still need a nap in the middle of the day so i am not going back to work yet. Good luck in your journey Tina

Congrats EW!! Sounds like you are going GREAT, but I agree with the earlier post...don't over do it...many of us can tell you that about a week after surgery you feel GREAT...you over do it, you don't get enough rest and around the 4-10 week period you are dragging big time.... Remember your body is going through MAJOR changes....first it is basically starving at this point, you have had a MAJOR surgery and it needs some down time... But, sounds like you are doing wonderful and keep us posted... Oh, btw, enjoy the ride because the time from surgery to about 14 months post-op was the greatest ride of my life... Enjoy, RAE
