New Surgery

Great news - I had the surgery on 06/06/06 at Penninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbudy, MD. My surgeon is Dr. Mike Sofronski with Delmarva Bariatric Center. These folks are great - I had been denied by CareFirst because of a Maryland exception for small groups. Dr. Sofronski's staff recommended MAMSI and with some trepidation we switched insurers. NOTE we are small company, with only 5 employees. Dr. Sofronski's office actually had approval for the surgery BEFORE I evern received my insurance card. My presurgery stats - weight 476, BMI 59, High BP,. Diabetes, Sleep Apnea and the usualy fatigue and joint problems. Had the surgery on 06/06/06, went home 06/08/06. I'm walking a half mile in about 30 minutes twice a day and I feel pretty good. I had the laproscopic rouexn Y bypass. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Gene, Welcome to "the other side"...congrats for making and following through on a new lifestyle. For me, life prior to WLS was good.... life after WLS is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!
