Need new Primary Care Physician
My PCP of about 12 yrs has left the area and I have to find a new one, preferably a woman, who is familiar with Gastric Bypass. Someone on this site recommended Dr Dailey and Dr Easly but they are no longer accepting new patients. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in the Annapolis, Bowie, Crofton area?
Thanks,
Sue
Sue,
He's not a woman, and not in your area, but my PCP is Dr. David Madder at the Johns Hopkins White Marsh center. I thought you might be interested, since he is familiar with the gastric bypass. I am also a patient of Dr. Schweitzer (5/2/2006), so Dr. Madder is familiar with the process. One other thing of interest is that Dr. Madder believes that gastric bypass is a great surgery for the right patient. Many doctors you find will do their best to persuade you not to do it because they don't know all the facts. You can reach Dr. Madder's office at (443)442-2300.
Good luck!

Sue,
The hospital experience was good for the most part, and the experience with Dr. S has been fine. The one thing I can say about Dr. S is that he's very hands off. You'll deal more with Pat Jordan than Dr. S himself. I believe I have only seen Dr. S 3 times... consultation, surgery date, and time of discharge. However, I have no complaints about the level of care that I have received. He has a good team.

Hi Mo,
Well that certainly is close, thanks! And I've definitely heard of Dr Greene. It's so hard to find the right fit firstly, then a dr that is very familiar with the RNY. I'd really like to have this search done and in place before my surgery! Thanks for your help and good luck on your journey!

Hi Sue,
I was looking this morning to see if I could find any other information for you on that group, but wasn't successful. I saw Dr Greene for my arthritis there about 2 1/2 years ago. As I recall, there were a number of different specialties as well as General Practitioners in that office. The office was in a little medical park type place right close to Bowie Towne Center.
Hugs, Mo
Hi GT,
There's nothing like a "been there, done that" kinda knowledge with regard to weight issues. That sort of background puts me at ease right away! Thanks a lot for the referral! Hopefully this practice will accept my insurance. I've found a couple really great docs but this HMO I'm in, well, a lot of Doctors don't want to deal with them and their hoops to jump through!
Thanks again and take care,
Sue
