Surgery Date!!
I have a surgery date and it's much earlier than I expected...July 6th with Dr Schweitzer at John Hopkins Bayview!! Anybody else having surgery about this same time?
So now I'm in focus mode getting everything all lines up...ordering protein samples, researching chewable vitamins and meds, finding those packed away clothes from size 14 to 28, etc.. I have my first appt with a personal trainer tommorrow. It's only about a month or so of working out before the surgery, but it's gotta help some. Also, hopefully, it will set me into motion (in the exercise dept.) for after surgery. There is a calm excitement, but of course the worry about the unknown - how will my body respond or react to this type of rerouting? Luckily I don't have too long to ponder these things! And the good thing about this date is, barring no complications, I'll be road ready by the time my boys are ready to go back to school.
Thanks to all you who have shared info and encouragement in my journey up to now. I can hardly even believe that there is a possibility of being a much smaller self with the ability to really live life and not just sit on the sidelines!!!
'Til next time,
Sue
Sue -
That's great! Bayview's not too far from me (I live in Middle River), so maybe I can get up to see you. PROVIDING, of course, that you want company post-op! I DID NOT, and won't be offended if you don't!!!!!
Let us know if you need anything, and take a look at the board for our first get-together. Try to join us if you can!
Take care,

Hi Teresa,
Thanks so much for your kind offer! I have no idea how I might feel about visitors. I've never really had any major surgery to compare it to. The get together you're organizing sounds fun, but the date is already spoken for...I have a little 7 yo who is in Cub Scouts and they are having a function. I'm sure you guys will have a great time! I look forward to your post telling everybody how it went.
Thanks again,
Sue
