Does anyone have ideas as to what to do to pass the time till your surgery date. I'm going threw one obstacle which is to quit smoking. But I'm not sure what I should do to get ready for the surgery. Did anyone get all there vitamins and protein stuff prior to there date? Whats a good protein to get. I had my nutrional thing back in october so its all alittle fuzzy. Is the protein like power you make into a drink? Please help thanks kelly

I did buy a lot of protein samples before the surgery. One protein that sounded good didn't come in samples so I bought the whole $30+ jar .... hated it. Tried the samples before surgery ... didn't buy any full size ... hated them all. THEN ... after surgery when I was in a hurry to get to work one day I tried the $30 jar stuff again ...this time in mik instead of water ... LOVED it!! Best advice I can give is to buy some samples .... but wait till after the surgery to try them ... everyone tells us our tasts change post surgery, so don't waste the product pre-surgery. The best thing I did pre-surgery was put aside my personal convictions about dieting and listened to the dietician when she told me to eat more food. I practiced her three meals, two snacks rule faithfully and lost 28 pounds in the 6 months gettingg ready for the surgery. Then after surgery there really wasn't any adjustment to deal with it, because the frequent small meals was already a habit. Best of luck to you. Jody

Hi Kelly, I just replied to your email tonight too!! I would stock up on things like soup, s/f jello, s/f pudding, s/f popsicles, protien sample drinks etc... If you go with me Wedneday I'll give you samples of the protien shakes I have too. Megan

I'm surprised no one mentioned it already, but if you haven't started exercising, now would be the best time to start doing it. It gets you into the habit of doing it on a daily basis and any weight you lose prior to surgery is a bonus. Good luck Kelly
