Hello All. Well I got my chest X-Ray done today. You know what I hate! The Advanced Radilogy place I went to had very small armed chairs so I had to stand the whole time while waiting for my appointment. Everyone was looking at me and Judging me. I just looked at my paperwork over and over and just stood there. You cant Schedule Appt's for chest X-Ray's. Soooooo I had to stand for about an hour and by the time they finally called my name my back was pulsing so much and my thighs were so numb that it was hard to walk. Then they put me in a little changing room and gave me a robe and told me to walk out when I was ready.Well ofcourse the robe was too small. IT was more like a vest. So there was noone around and finally I walked out hugging my little vest robe at tight as possible and had to walk down a hall of people. I cant even say humiliation was the word. Then I finally spotted the lady and she saw me and she said" You are too big for that arent you"? "WHAT"!!!!!!!!!!! I said no the robe is to small for me!! So she led me back to the dressing room and told me to wait until she could find something that might possibly fit me. So I waited behind the curtain and meanwhile I heard her talking with people about my girth and someone said " Why dont we take a sheet and wrap it around her" followed by giggling!. So in tears waiting. I heard someone say " I found it"! So she comes back to the curtain and says "Your in luck, we found the biggest and only large gown we have"! I said thankyou and got the x-ray and then I had to wait even more "STANDING" in the waiting room for my films. I need them to bring to the pulmonologist. About another 30 minutes later I heard " Why are these films sitting here?" Someone said "They have been sitting there for a half hour" "Miss Stoffel come get your film" I said thank-you."You didn't have to wait you know" I told her "I was told to and I am never coming back here again"! I stormed out and cried while driving to work. At least its one more thing out of the way.

WOW...talk about insensitive people. I've had good experiences with Advanced Radiology in the past (at Crain Towers in Glen Burnie and also Crossroads Medical Center in Ellicott City). I'm so sorry you had to experience that ugliness Rachel. Just keep your chin up. Soon you'll have everything done and your surgery will be scheduled and done and over with and before ya know it, you'll be on the loosing side Why don't you make plans to join us on out get together on June 11th? We're planning to meet at White Marsh Mall (See details in Teresa E's post from a few days ago). I for one would love to meet you Hugs, Terry

OMG, that is awful. You know, you hear everywhere about being being judged on color or race, but no one ever wants to talk about discrimination against "fat" people. You poor thing. You should report those women to their supervisors. Well, good luck and I hope you never have to deal with that again!

Rachel, your post brought tears to my eyes. I can so relate to what you wrote. I can not wait to see the difference in outlook/experiences once your on the loosing side. My prayers are with you. Keep the faith. TraciL

Thank-you so much for your words of encouragement. It makes it so much easier to have friends who can look at the positive side of things
