PS REQUESTED SUBMITTED TO BC/BS
Well I was told by my ps that they have submitted my paperwork for my tt, they want to do an inverted t because of the large amount of excess I have from my days at 515lbs, this means I wont have a belly button when im done, oh well I guess that means no more fuzz to clean out of it. Anyone else had success getting approve through bc/bs my primary wrote a letter of medical necessity documenting severe and frequent fungal deratitis and that I am required to shower several times a day to keep the panni clean as well as it is so large that it is difficult to urinate without soiling myself because I literally have to lift the panni up with two hands which leaves nothing to hold onto mr happy. I hope they deem this medically necessary, along with the letter and phots the ps is submitting I hope this will be enough to get it done.
Hi Steve,
From what I hear if you lose more than 100lb they will pay for just the tummy tuck. No love handles, no butt lift no bat wings no leg lift just the front apron. That's my next surgery along with a hernia repair want to finish school first should finish this December and have to coice either bilateral total knees or TT with hernia repair.
Good Luck
Karen Duncan
( Photos of your skin breakdown and infections may sway the ajuster to allowing even more tucks to be done)
HI Steve,
congrats on your weight loss and starting the next leg of your journey...I am 8 months post-op from my VERY extended tummy tuck...
You might want to check out the plastic surgery page on obesityhelp....very helpful and lots of support there....
One item that is confusing to me....you mention an inverted T...typicially called an anchor cut....LOTS of folks have anchor cuts and still have a bully button...I would ask your surgeon WHY he doesn't want to give the effort to move your belly button....although I ended up NOT needing an anchor cut, my stomach skin was stretch way down....a birth mark I had up near my ribs is now near my "new" belly button....but my surgeon did move my belly button
Yes, sometimes things happen that make it impossible to 'save" the belly button, but from my research and my own experience those situations are rare indeed..,
When I first interviewed my "chosen" surgeon I asked if he would move my belly button because I had heard stories.....he looked at me like I had lost my mind....after he recovered he assured me that he ALWAYS moves the belly button....
It does sound like you have a good chance of having your TT approved....
Best wishes....and check out the plastic surgery page...
