Too fat for the table for Upper GI
Hi Racheal,
I went to a radiologist over on ristertown road, on the west side of town I was 325 at the time I think they are Americain radiology but wouldn't swear to it I had to call around to find them have you tried Johns Hopkins Bayview. My Upper GI wasn't done for my surgery. Good luck keep calling everyone.

Rachel,
I did not have an upper GI done for my surgery, but was thinking...how about calling your surgeon's office to see who they would recommend. Obviously they have relationships with other medical services/providers for bariatric patients and maybe they can give you one (or more) places to go.

Take Care,

Rachel -
Yep, my friend Terry is right - call DVR's office and see who they recommend, and tell him the problem you're running into. I had mine done at Advanced Radiology on Franklin Square Drive. It was done standing up, and at my weight of 377, it was still a tight fit.
Again, call DVR's office and tell him what a tough time you're having. Also, my Dad's gastro is Dr. Mark Diamond, who was named tops in his field in Baltimore Mag. Not sure of his number, but his office is around FSHC.
Hope this helps,
Teresa
I can't help you on the upper GI, but I am over 400 and when I have had to have CT scans I went to Advanced Radiology. Not all of their offices have the heavy duty tables, but I know the one at Annapolis Mall does. Check with them: http://www.advancedradiology.com/
I'm so sorry sweetie that you are going through this. I just had mine done in Glen Burnie Maryland yesterday. To be honest with you, i forgot the name of the center but the doctors name is Dr. Manejwala on Crain Highway (Glen Burnie Medical Center). I do not recognize the name of the area you live in, so I can't tell you how far away, so sorry about that. The doctor was very friendly to me and understanding about the surgery. I am 265 lbs, but I am also only 5'2, so my BMI is almost 50 as well. I will find my paperwork and post the telephone number if it is not too far for you to travel. The ladies/staff at the center that I had the surgery done were totally sweet.
Take Care, God Bless & Keep your head up, your heading in the right direction!
