Hi all! Happy New year! I've been off line for a while. I had my 1 year Nov 27 and was very happy with what everyone had to say. I'm down 150 lbs and have 10 to go to my ultimate goal. I'm getting a referral to plastics.
I just want everyone on this forum to know that I have found a lot of inspiration from all of you! You are a bunch of great people and those of you who are willing to share your stories make it easier for myself and many others to cope and work through challenges! Thank you all for your sharing!

I'm doing great, thanks! I need a bit of a "touch up" of some uneven spots along the incision line, which Dr. Dolynchuk is going to do after the six-month mark (no extra charge). My abdominal muscles are finally not really sore when I sit up or sneeze, LOL. Clothes fit properly!

I have a couple boxes of Cymbalta just sitting because I cannot take it. Is there anyone here who takes it and would like it. Let me know and I can make arrangements to get it to you. :)

Sondra, no matter whether you are a guinea pig or not, there is NO WAY it should take this long for someone in constant pain to get help! I hope that 2014 is a much better year for you in all ways.
Cheers to everyone!

well i saw my gp today.i needed a refill on pain meds.while i was there .He also told me that i will be admitted to hosp in mid january to get me off the pain meds and to see what my pain is like with out the pain meds.i informed him on the status of my appts.he said something very interesting to me.he said that because i was very early in the program that the doctors are entering new territory because they have not dealt with problems this far out so the problems i am facing are also new to them and i am kinda a Guinea pig for them.while this makes sense it also is concerning as they dont know what is wrong.unfortunatly every problem that any bariatric patient develops is a new learning experience for the doctors.
i hope that in the end they use what they learn from my problems to help others sooner than it is taking to help me.
i hope everyone has a wonderful and healthy new year and hopefully we can meet up soon
p.s he also said that he would be happy if i am able to return to work by april

as I sit here and reflect on 2013 I look at everything that has happened over the past year.It has been a trying year for me with my health.I am grafeful for the friends i have met and helped over the past year.I know many of us have had health issues this this year and luckily most of you have had them resolved.I am thank ful that you are open to asking questions and understanding that my answers are based on what i know or have experianced.I am thankful that i have a GP doctor who actually listens to me about my health issues and doesnt brush me off.I am excited for all of the members who have just had surgery or are about to.I love seeing the progress everyone is making. The program has gone through some growing pains and will hopefully continue to evolve into a better program.,
as you bring the new year just think about all the successes that you have accomplished this past year.
make realistic goals for next year.be healthy and happy and enjoy your new year as it will be better than last year.
happy new year everyone

Beautiful message Sondra and great advice. Keep em coming, we need your know how. I now know to watch for signs of being full like my nose starting to run. This helps me realize I am full when I don't otherwise know. Thank you, and I hope you had a good Christmas and have a Happy New Year too. Barb
Well another year is over and a new one is starting. This year I lost 50 pounds exactly. New years day I weighed 260.5 and today i weigh 210.5. I had a goal to loose 90 pounds this year, didn't make that BUT I WILL TAKE 50. I hope to loose 90 pounds this year. Hay might as well aim for the stars and hope for the best. I also lost being a borderline diabetic and high cholesterol. 2013 was a success. I hope everyone has a super good new year and I wish you success in your weight loss journeys. CHEERS AND GOOD HEALTH TO EVERYONE. BARB. BRING ON 2014 : I AM READY.
