Definitely keep us post, Sondra. I wish I had seen your post earlier this week. I know that I'm feeling discouraged because it will be 4 years on the wait list this March. There a things that I need to take responsibility to do, that I am letting fear of further rejection hold me back from.

Good luck Sondra. Tread lightly. I have some opinions about how they do things here in Manitoba but I don't want to post all of them in an open forum.
But I will say this... imho the Minister should also hear from Manitoba bariatric patients that are not in the Manitoba bariatric surgery program. Also imho its time Manitoba Health adopted a community based, open access support program similar to Alberta Health's Weight Wise program.
I would be willing to meet with the Minister.

Dr Ponce de Leon Mexico VSG 4 Jun 12. I lost 57 lbs on my own before having a VSG. This is by far the best thing I have ever done for myself.
If someone would like to book more meet and greets under a different group name we could get another 4 meetings per year free. The group listed at the library is called Obesity help. We could register another group with a different name like winnipeg weight loss group or manitoba weight loss group (thier stipulation is it has to be non profit so we cant charge for meetings in order to get the room free). Call Andrew McCulloch, Branch Head: 204-986-7156 at Sir William Stephanson library. or you can also use one of the other libraries listed on the 311 site. I personally don't have the ability to make it to a monthly meeting (i am from Selkirk) but if someone else can do it (the libraries are an option)
