Protein shakes made me gag. They tasted horrible. (I had VSG.) I'm 3 years out and still don't like them. The Premier Protein ones from Costco seemed a bit better. They are really thick, more like a milkshake. Maybe even try warming up your water. I couldn't drink it cold and even room temp wasn't great. It just takes time.

I would be interested but only if  we meet at a central location. Fort Richmond is way to far for me in winter. (no car)

It will get better i promise.give your self time.room temp water works best.being so early out dont worry about getting the shakes in just take your time.take small sips and often.it will take time for your new pouch to heal.try clear soup broth

welcome to the losers side

Hello fellow members

I had my surgery January 7,2014 and am struggling to get enough water and protein.  I used to love water but find it cold is the worst so I leave it out on the counter but just don't have the stomach for it yet.  Even the protein shakes are not good at this point.  Did anyone else have this happen?  Not freaked out yet but so new at I I'm not sure if thats normal or not.  Tummy very tender still, can't wait to have a shower.

I hope everyone had a great holiday season.  I was blessed with a flu that wiped me out for 6 days over christmas....lost a few pounds tho.  Saw Dr Vergis the other day and we think I have a stricture...this was something he thought might happen after the last surgery.  I have to say that even tho  I knew it was possible I am still very disheartened that I am having problems so familiar to me.  I am going for a scope and dilatation on Tuesday and then another in 3-5 weeks and probably a 3rd one 3-5 weeks after that.  Hopefully that will fix my current issues.  If its the worst I have to endure this year, it will be a good year.   Hoping everyone has a healthy start to their year.  Looking forward to the meet and greets and reading about everyone on the boards.  Have a great day...kj
