Please come dressed comfortable for moderate activity.  Equipment will be provided.  All fitness levels welcome.

Please note that space is limited and therefore we ask that you RSVP if you plan on attending.

Topic: Brachioplasty and Fleur de lis Tummy Tuck Update

Good morning all,

I am mending well and my emotions are in check YIPPEE. I never would have thought that these surgeries would have affected me the way they did, but can now say I am glad for the experience.

As you are aware I had some complications early out, after the first six days I was rushed into emergency for internal bleeding, the PS rushed me into surgery and spent almost two hours looking for and finding the bleeder. My blood pressure is very low so my bleeder was only dripping rather than spurting. Then once home I developed an opening at the bottom of the anchor in my TT. I had that for three weeks and then last week my PS did another 45 minute surgery to remove the dead stuff, clean it up and closed the opening. All went very well with that surgery.

I am now seven weeks post op from the original date and feel fabulous. My arms healed wonderfully, I still have a couple of tiny spots of lumpy scar tissue but am massaging them and they are disappearing slowly just a little more stubborn than the rest of the arms. My tummy is flat and wonderful and cloths look great.

So the bottom line is would I do this again. "YOU BET IN A HEART BEAT".

Thank you so much to everyone here who has supported me through this and listened to my rants and cheered me on with understanding and compassion. Hugs to you all! Lorna

Topic: treats to share

I have always loved to cook and since my surgery I have become the master of experimenting with protein powder.   Honestly some "experiments" were delicious like the recipe below others like my protein potato balls, well not so much.

A few people have asked me to share some of my/their favorite recipes with them.  Here is a great cookie recipe that tastes like a cookie and not protein bar.  :)

Protein Cookie Balls

1/4 cup butter or margarine ( I have tried a batch with homemade apple sauce - a thicker dough but still yummy)

1/2 cup natural peanut butter

1/2 cup sunflower seed butter

1/2 scoop Whey Protein Powder

1 cup whole wheat pastry flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

~1/4 cup liquid egg whites

1-2 packets of stevia

splash of almond milk

I know most recipes with baking soda and powder call for salt.  I add 1/8th of a teaspoon.

Directions:

Cream butter and nut butters together.  In separate bowl, combine protein powder, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.  Slowly add to dry mixture to nut butter/butter combo.  Use egg whites (or almond milk) if needed to help mix.  Fold in chocolate chips and stevia.  Scoop onto parchment lined cookie sheet.  Bake for 8 minutes at 325 degrees.  Do not over bake, no one likes cookies as hard as hockey pucks.

Hi Mike,

I have bought the Wellese liquid from Costco.  I prefer the chewable I buy from Vitacost online. The chewable are made by TwinLabs Bariatric brand. I don't really mind the taste. I figure I have to take them regardless so down the hatch it goes!

Topic: RE: Meet & Greet

I think it would be great to meet at a restaurant for a light lunch!  Especially since we are all going to be chew chew chewing!

It seems that there are a lot of people and we can have more than one meeting to accommodate all the different choices,  (Libraries, restaurants, parks etc)
