I hate to jonx myself by saying i havent lost any hair after any of the 5 surgeries (4 of them complication related).  I have always tried to keep my protein up, as much as it was possible, an I swear by the Biotin.  That said I am only 4 1/2 months out from my last surgery.  I hope I dont wake up bald!  Have a great day all...kj

I have no clue where that would be. Even then, wouldn't that pretty much be the same thing as calling the doctor hotline and asking who's taking patients in my area?

This is frustrating.

How far along are you and how much have you lost? Keep up the good work!

Just my two cents worth -- I didn't lose any hair at all. I didn't do anything unusual or take any supplements. My hair is extremely thick. It sounds like I might be in the minority.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!  I was assured that I would NOT lose all my hair - very scary.  How long after surgery did your hair start falling out?  When did it start growing back?

I lost almost all my hair and used a wig for the first year. My hair was straight, blonde and fine and grew back, dark, curly and thicker.  I since have it colored blonde because thats what I'm used to, but I love that it grew in thick and its straightened out now, but has body.  I have a new wig, short blonde highlights and wavy for sale if anyone needs it.  I bought it in Phoenix and paid $165

Thanks

Alvina

What a wonderful afternoon yesterday - I spent it at the clinic with kinesiologist, dietician and nurse.  Lots of changes since my surgery.  Wow!

It was informative as always and we had lots of laughs.    They are very pleased with my progress. :).

Next appt in June.

Sorry to hear your Dr. is not on board with the importance of this tool in combatting obesity.  I know Chris Andrew has held info sessions to educate the medical community in Manitoba.  My GP was a non- believer and changed her philosophy once she attended one of his sessions.  Unfortunately she is not accepting new patients, have you tried your local ACCESS centre?

As promised I said I would respond after my visit to the clinic......so here is the short repsonse, STRESS (surgery, diet change, etc) to the body can cause hair loss. A friend of mine had hip replacement surgery and 3 months post sugery her hair was shedding in clumps - never to the point of bald spots.  It was recommended that I ensure I consume the correct amount of protein, take my vitamins as prescribed and "it will grow back"

The dietician is checking into the articles I found on the ZINC info.  Once I hear back from her I will post again.
