The Craving change program is offered through the Bariatric Clinic at the Victoria Hospital. They usually have the timetable on the bulletin board outside the office. You will probably be able to book your sessions once you have your appointments on the 14th as the psychologist booked mine when I met with her.

Topic: even though i have not been posting much i have not forgotten you and have been actively researching

hello my fellow members,

i have not been on here much due ongoing health issues and most days just dont have the energy to go on the pc.

on days that i am able to go on here i usually spend my time researching and communicating with bariatric companies and websites.

i have been researching many issues that come up with wls patient  post op.

I am also in contact with bariatric vitamin company and they are interested in suppling me with samples for the group as i explained to them that there is no real avaliblilty around here for those of us who have already had surgery.i will enclose the reply that they sent me this morning.Would you like me to pursue this.

Again if you are wanting to ask questions i will answer them when i can.notifications are not being sent to me from this website which is disappointing as i dont know when i get messages or responses to my posts.

here is the reply from the company

Hello, We would love to send you samples of some of our products! We do have sample kits of our chewable vitamins designated for the specific procedures. We also have single serving packets of the High Protein Meal Replacements for $3.25 each. We will need to create an account for you and the easiest way to do this would be over the phone. If you would please give us a call so that we can get more information from you, that would be great. If email does work best for you we will need you to provide us with your first and last name, email, phone number, address, name of your surgeon or name of the practice, type of procedure and products that you might be interested in. Once we have all of this information we can create an account for you and send you samples. We have also forwarded your information to Brooke Salyer and she will be in contact with you regarding your interest in products for your bariatric program.

Topic: Craving Change Workshop Question

Hi everyone!

I am new to the forum.  I went to the seminar at Victoria Hospital a couple of weeks ago.  She told us that we would have to take 4 Craving Change classes, I can't seem to find where they are offered.  I have my next appointment on May 14th but I was hoping to find out more about these classes before then.

Any ideas or information is greatly appreciated.

I am about an hour from Winnipeg.

Thankfully they are working on those menus.  A lot of us were contacted regarding this and hope all the input is helpful   I love that they are making theses changes.  Since I was going to be away on that Thursday meeting they let me put my input in via telephone

Topic: RE: Complications

I have also had the alot of the same complications and unfortunatly for me the bariatric team did not believe me when i went to them.they discovered that i had major complications and ended up spending a month in st.b and they still do not know what is wrong.there are many of us who are having complications but the bariatric team are dismissing our concerns and health issues. We now are hesitant to go to them when we have issues because they brush our concerns off.

Topic: so sorry about my absence

Hello all,

i want to say that I am sorry that i havent been on here much lately.i had made a promise to the group and myself that i would be here for those of you who had questions. They still havent figured out whats wrong with me.I havent had the energy to come on here.I am still off work due to my current problems and it has been almost a year since i went to emergency at st.b

the bariatric team has told me that my gp is to look after me so i was very upset for along time about this.I am on some pretty strong medications for the pain and they make me nauseated alot so i am on meds for that also which make me very tired.

But on a happier note the clinic asked myself and a couple other ladies in the program to help them come up with meal trays that work for us when we are admitted to the hospital at times when we are not there for bariatric surgery. We have complained enough that the foods we are given are not appropriate for life after bariatrics. So hopefully soon there will be changes at the victoria at first but will gradually be moved to the other hospitals

Topic: RE: QUESTIONS!

Hi and congrats on getting this far.the schedule changes based on how many surgeons they have.it had really slowed down for awhile due to dr hardy being in mat leave.you used to be able to call and let them know what you timeframe was.it has been so long since i had mine the program has changed completly.i was part of the pilot program and didnt have to jump through as many hoops as you do now.it was only 3 months from approval to surgery for me.barely enough time to wrap my head around the process.
