Thank you for putting on the Meet and greet Lorna.  It sure was nice to see everyone again and meet some new people.  I managed to snag some more outfits for work.  There was a good turnout this time.  The location is AWESOME.  I wish I could have stayed longer, I didn't get much of a chance to visit.  See you at the next one.  Barb

Welcome to the group.  There are many of us that went to Mexico for surgery and all have had a positive experience as far as I know.  We will try to help you with any questions you may have.  I had the Duodenal switch procedure with Dr. Ponce de Leon in Tijauana.  Many have gone for the sleeve there too. : I had a follow up appt today with Dr. Hardy regarding how I am doing since my surgery for the internal hernia and to check up on my ulcers. She was happy that I am feeling better. I am having another appt in a few months. She reminded me to just call the office if I have any other problems. I have had nothing but positive and true concern from the wls drs.

Hi Cindy

You can't find the groups because they are secret. The only way to join is by invitation. If you send me your e-mail address associated with your Facebook account, I will invite you. There are two groups. I'll invite you to both. Send me a message privately if you prefer, rather than posting your e-mail on here.

Hi, I was checking into going to Mexico just in case I'm not approved here in the states. Today I was watching videos on youtube about it. Just go to youtube and type in weight loss surgery in Mexico and watch some. They tell you what to expect from start to finish and some even tell you how much they paid. I also found websites that offer online discounts for the surgeries. I know that is what I will do if I don't get approved. Good Luck to you and best wishes.

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, and due to the ridiculous waiting times in Manitoba am considering going to Mexico for Vertical Sleeve.

I am nervous, but excited about it too! I noticed another post of a gal considering mexico, and noticed that everyone that replied seemed to have a positive experience. Am looking forward to getting to know everyone...and right now am still in the planning phase, and I am considering Dr Ramirez.

Happy to have found this great supportive group!

Cindy

I don't have a laptop Mike sorry. There are plugs in the room if you are bringing a laptop.
