I can't help you with a family Dr but I think unless you have problems you will not get any assistance from the bariatric clinic. You might try having your program in Ontario refer you to the program at the Victoria Hospital and see if that would get you in.

Hope it goes well for you. Don't put all your eggs in one basket as I did.I went through the program and 2 days after I finished the craving changes I was told I was too old.
Hi,
I just moved from Ontario to Manitoba. I am living in Melita ( South west). I am looking for information on any Doctors, and or clinics to continue to monitor me. I am coming from a great clinic in Ottawa and would love to find the same support team here. I am post op, had RNY in January 2012. I have done great with my weight loss, but do have issues with my anemia (B12 and Iron) and other vitamin deficiencies. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be great!
Thanks
:)

Unfortunately yes that is how long the waiting list is. They are currently working on referrals from the end of 2012. It will likely be at least two years before you get called for orientation and another several months afterward before surgery.....but as you said at least the process has begun!
Oh i feel bad that I missed the meet n greet...I havent been checking the site lately...hope to see you all at the next one. Kj
HI there
Sorry I missed the meeting, Iwas in emergency with twisted bowels, first serious medical problem since my surgery. Hope to see you next time

Well, my family doctor called yesterday and said that they received letter letting them know that I have been accepted into the program. Now have to start the waiting game.
They told me that the waiting list is lengthy and it could be up to two years. At least the process has begun.
Does it really take that long for everyone?
