Hey, long time no hear. We should get a group of us together and head to Mexico. It is TOO $$ HERE. I need some work done too and it would be nice for a team of us to go, and we could likely get discounts for groups, I am told.

Well, glad you are home, but sorry you are still in pain. Are you ok to go back to work if you are still on T3's? Don't push yourself! Maybe you should just take more time if you need it. Take care and hopefully we will see you again soon. Barb C. ,BCwaiting

I was given a goal of 210( I'm 5'10 and was 295 pre op) I got to 194 now with a bmi of 27.8 ( 1 yr post op) and want to lose another 19 lbs ... I'm now in a size 12 comfortably ( I did buy a 10 jean capris the other day but they had some stretch in them )

I would have still done this to get to 210 but it just takes a bit more work to lose over 60-70% of your excess body weight . To some people it isn't worth all that extra work for the extra excess weight . 100% ewl is rarer for most people. Life is pretty good now I must say and I am content for the most part .

I wish you nothing but a speedy recovery. Do they think you have a flu and this is affecting you worse? This may sound "out there" but what is "click"? Wishing you well. My surgery is Monday morning! A little anxious!

i am going back to work on wednesday but am still tired.havent been posting or commenting much as i have been recovering.i miss solid food.i am still eating very little as it really hurts to eat.i can feel the food moving through my system.i have lost 12 pounds since this has started.i am really hoping that this will end soon or i will call the clinic again.i am not Going much lately,i figure this is due to lack of food and the fact that they have played with my inards again and everything has to heal.i am still taking t3s quite often due to the pain of stuff moving.

please remember that if you think you have a problem call the clinic and discuss it with them it is better to be safe.

thank goodness for my click as that is mainly what i am consuming along with greek yogurt.i do try real food at least once a day but am warey due to the pain it causes.

Yes, They give you a high number so it is a realistic goal you can reach, but yes it is still a BMI that says you are still overweight. So, Everyone gets to that number and almost everyone will continue to loose naturally, probably around an additional 30 pounds give or take. Your body will tell you when to stop...you will just come to a stall. if that stall stays the same for months, then that is probably your bodies ideal weight. You will then be in maintenance unless you up you exercise to loose more. I had my surgery 1 year ago. I lost a lot of weight before surgery, and the balance after surgery for a total of about 100 pounds, they only had me loosing 70 pounds. II have not lost anything since Christmas, so it is unlikely I will loose anymore, even though I wanted to get to a BMI of 24 ( normal range) which means I still need to loose 7 more pounds. Whether it happens or not, it doesn't matter, because I am so proud and happy with what I have accomplished. And as long as I don't regain, I am happy. You will be the same. you will make their goal, surpass it and when you come to a long stall..that is your number! Good luck. barb C.

They gave me a high number as well (195).  I have not put my personal goal in a number..... I am leaning toward just being in the "normal" catagory with my BMI which would be 165.  The goal weight that the NUT gave me would still leave me in the obese category - lol.  I have people already telling me to stop losing weight, when I ask them how much they think I weigh, I get estimates in the 160s all the time - ?????? - I weigh 192 right now.  I don't think I will be able to get down to the  165 mark (maybe after plastics takes some)  and it DEFINITELY  gets harder the further out from surgery you are.  I have heard it said on here that the last 20 lbs are still the last 20 lbs..... as hard to lose as it was before WLS (deeeepresssing!)  So don't get crazy playing the numbers game, make your success about your fitness, your clothes, your relationships (which can change for good and bad).  Make sure you take measurements and pics in your "before" stage.  I weigh and measure every Monday and it is really neat to see the progress on paper and in pics.  Have you been to any Meet and Greets?  now there is a wealth of information ...... conversations with people in every stage of the game.
