Hope to see you there!
Thank you Saucy. It has been a wonderful experience. I feel so blessed to have had this opportunity. Some days are a struggle, but all in all it has been positive.
Hope to speak with your at the next M & G.
CONGRATS ON THE NO SMOKING. Thats awesome. I had to use champix to quit, but it worked. I am now almost 4 years smoke free. I hope you get your reply soon. Barb
I used to use my fitness pal. It is awesome. I stopped keeping track a few months ago. Don't know why. I have to start keeping track again, my user name on my fitness pal is fluffyone2. Yes I am still fluffy lol. I will check my profile settings and make sure they are public. (anyone can add me if they want. ) My diet is very different than other folks. High protein (protein first), low carb, and high fat. Barb
Welcome! you will find this site a wealth of information for all stages of your WLS journey. We try to get together once a month and a couple times a year we do a clothing swap (it's a good way to get rid of the clothes you don't fit and pick up some to bridge you through when you are going through sizes like crazy). We sometimes bring sample of products we have tried and liked and recipes to try. Mostly M & Gs are just casual conversations between people who are at different stages. Some people have amazingly good journeys and some have major complications so be prepared for both. WLS is not a magic bullet that fixes everything in your life but if you are prepared and informed, it makes it soooo much better. This is where the support group can be invaluable so come on out, we are meeting for just a coffee on June 19th in the evening, around 7ish but stay tuned for place and exact time.
I know your excited and impatient but don't forget the most people who are having WLS aren't on this site posting. They don't tell you at the MB Bariatric Program about this site. Most of us found it by search engine or by word of mouth from a friend. Sometimes it seems like weeks go by without someone having surgery, but don't fret, they are going on all the time.
Use this waiting time wisely to prepare yourself mentally and physically for the upcoming changes. Start attending Meet and Greets, get on My Fitness Pal and start logging (it's so easy) talk to those who have "been there" and find out what you can be doing now to ensure your success. The more effort a person puts in, the better result you'll have

Is there an upcoming in person get together in Winnipeg for people who are on the WLS journey? Looking to find a local WLS support group to share information, etc.
Thanks...
