All I can remember from when I used sick time through EI is that I didn't have to serve the 2 week waiting period and you have to use up any sick time you have through your employer.

Best of luck!

Karen

Good luck with your surgery. I had a Roux-en-Y on May 13th. Fortunately, I am an educator so I have been off work since then. I will go back to work in the fall again. I had paid sick leave benefits for the entire time I was off work. I have been very fortunate that way.

Hi K

Good luck on your surgery!

We went thru craving change together.

I think you would be back at work before you got EI.  It takes 6 weeks.  Alot if the people that I have met at group meets said they took off 3 weeks and were back at work no problem.

I've booked off two weeks. I sit at a desk all day for work. if I am feeling crappy I will take that 3rd week off.

:)

Hey folks.

I just received my Roux-en-Y surgery date, August 12th.

I'm looking for some advice regarding EI:

  • When did you apply?
  • Were you approved, and if so...
  • When did you get your ROE?
  • When did you get the certificate from the surgeon?
  • When did you get your first payment?
  • How long did you take off?
  • How much time did you really need to take off?

Thank you,

Mr. 340

Dr. Jamie Ponce de Leon - Medical guide Laurie Wolf Received money Never showed up - Only thing booked were flights.  Surgeon and Medical team, and hospital were awesome .  There is another Medical guide named Trish she is good.  PM me for info.

Minneapolis can be super cheap for hotels... Hotwire ( can use betterbidding.com so you have an idea what hotel you are getting)  you can get a hotel like a country inn and suites for like 40-60 a night... Grand forks tends to be around 75-100 a night....

I'm good with either :-)

That would be so fun. I would be interested! Love Fargo and Minneapolis, not too fussy about Grand Forks. Keep me posted.
