hi trish,
the is blogging avalible on here.you can set it so that no one can read your post other than you if thats what you want.also google+ is a good site.
dont be so hard on yourself.you are making the effort to change your eating habits.you understand that what you are eating is not great.you can and will be allowed to eat carbs after surgery.you just need to understand which ones are the correct carbs.I still eat bread just in alot smaller amounts.i have found a protien bread that tatse pretty good.so that balances out the carbs and protien.you need to have some carbs in your diet.as for the pizza just eat the toppings(thats what i do)Keep nuts with you so when the craving monster rears you can have some.up your water intake.it sounds like you are not getting enough nutrition from the amount and items you are eating.grab a wendys or tims chili if you dont want to cook,we tend to eat those alot because its mostly protien and no extra crap in there.
Im sorry that your depression is up again.please know that we are here for you .

I will do my best to make it to this meet and greet, my bff said that she would come with me.. I have clothes put together that are too small for me, but i started thinking about it, perhaps i should hold on to them, for if and when I get thru surgery and lose the weight, I will need them wont I ??

I'm so stuck on carbs, it's not even funny.. How does one eat healthy when you don't have the desire to cook or the motivation to cook. Today for instance I had a bowl of rice crispies with a banana and brown sugar and 1%milk. @ work I had 3 small pieces of bread that I had used yesterday to make French toast, had that with some beacel nothing else. I had bowl of grapes. and just a bit of salad, as it didn't taste too good. That was my food for the day. I had 2 large glasses of water with Mio in it. Now I'm at home and I'm starving.. I work the evening shift so i find when i get home i am usually hungry.
So again, i go to carbs 2 pieces of left over pizza. I know not good, not good at all.. But how can i change my way of eating to eat healthier without too much effort? My depression has increased over the last few days as well.. Does anyone know of a good site that is private for blogging? about anything and everything? especially at night when my mind starts to go.. i should probably sit down and get it all out, perhaps i would sleep better at night!?
I didn't think this message was so much about the fact of what she ate but more the fact that she was not sticking to the Dr's plan. From my prespective it doesn't matter what you eat or do as long as you are committed to doing what you have been given instructions to do. Again it is all about how badly you want it.

Hi I'm new to the bariatric program here, having only been accepted about a week ago. I'm at the top end of the criteria for age and BMI so am very happy to be on the list. Have started at Mike's suggestion tracking my food on MyfitnessPal. Interesting to discover that I am falling short on my caloric intake......need to increase protein and cut my salt. Now to get a start on recording regular exercise. Hopefully by the time I have my meetings with the professionals I will be a better place to make positive changes. I'm assuming I'm having the RNY I didn't realize till reading posts on here that the sleeve was an option. Who decides?
Speaking only about the Alberta program, I believe the decision is the patient's based upon what the program offers (I believe lap band is not an option in Alberta), any co-morbidities (such as Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, excessive BMI or age), the risks and limitations of the different types, and what the surgeon recommends. If you're having private bariatric surgery then there's costs as well.
So do your research, ask lots of questions, make your decision and sleep on it. I initially chose a VSG then changed my mind and decided on a RNY. After doing further research, rethought my decision and finally decided the VSG was best for me.
BTW, salt is really hard to limit unless you chose low sodium prepare foods (including most condiments), stop eating fast food and restaurant meals (some have low sodium selections), and throw away your salt shaker. I stopped (or cut down) the amount of salt in most recipes and stopped using it on eggs, veggies and... corn on the cob!
