Amara had told me that I could have my Dr fax in a new weight so maybe you should phone and talk to the team and see if you should send in a new weight.
Welcome back Niki! I recognized the handle right away. There are a few of us heavy weights here, mostly trying to get into the program. I was admitted to Edmonton but when i canceled an appt for financial reasons and didn't immediately rebook, I was "discharged" back to my GP. I'm praying that this is a God thing and it's because I'd be better off without the extra travel.
You are not a downer or "party pooper", it's life and when you're heavier and see your goal weight is just lower than someone's highest, it sucks. Doesn't mean we can't be happy for them while we're sorry for ourselves.
Keep in mind that you likely have a lot of skin to be removed. I've heard of stories where larger patients have 20 pounds of skin removed. Maybe not being concerned about flapping skin will help make exercise more appealing.
I am glad to see you back.
Like you, March 2010. My BMI has been as high as 58.3, currently 54.9. I'm not sure what it was when I was referred. I'm trying to get up the courage to actually talk to someone at the Vic but rejection is a very scary thing! If my highest BMI is what they have on file, they need to know that I've brought it down though. I'm encouraged to know that your BMI was closer to what mine currently is on your referral.
My BMI was 49 when I went to my orientation in April, but was 54 when I was first referred almost 4 years ago. It is now 47.I had high blood pressure and while waiting was diagnosed as diabetic.
I hope you get in soon. How long have you been on the list?
Congrats Karen! When you were admitted to the program 7 months or so ago, what were your stats? I mean BMI and comorbidities.
Just asking because I'm still on the pre-wait list and wondering where they in the scheme of things. Just wondering!
Thanks for the info. I know alot of hotels near hospitals do offer a reduced rate for families. Brian has booked into the Queen Bee as he can park the van at the hospital and leave it there. He really hates driving in the city that much...

That's what my cousin said to. He found a room at the Queen Bee which is a little north of the hospital. It was about a 2 minute drive so the walk shouldn't be too bad unless it is really windy.
