Have been pretty much a silent member on here but would like to meet some of you sometime. Have a good day everyone.
Hello Michelle,
You mentioned maintaining for a year, that is great news. You've had some serious news and surgery. As others have mentioned, this is time for you to heal and recover just like after your bypass surgery. Maybe you can follow up with your health care practitioners about the amount of pain you are experiencing, maybe physio might help as well. Heard from others that phsyio thru a hospital is covered. I know from experience that there is a dietician at CancerCare that might be a resource to you as well.
I have maintained for 5 years now, keeping 100 lbs off, but last year, had chemo/radiation for cancer and now this year surgery. I have eaten stuff that I haven't touched for 5 years. I am bothered by that but right now I had to think the priority is fighting the cancer and after winning that battle, resume the battle to keep the weight off.

Thanks NGD, you are hilarious! Feeling some what better today. My tummy is still unhappy but not as bad. Have gotten through some the the major head hunger, now I just need to be able to sleep. Go for my pre op tomorrow then 1 week for surgery. Down 12 lbs this morning.
Hi Michelle
Sorry to hear that. Hope you'll be feeling better soon and take care of yourself. I went to my brother's place on the weekend and they had all this halloween treats sitting around, it wasn't hard to indulge. A good reminder to watch ourselves and don't eat that junk, as I just finished a bag of chips.

Well my scale has not moved. On Aug. 6th I weighed in and was at 219.5 and weighed on Sunday and am at 218. Not much progress for having a Duodenal Switch. I wonder how long stalls can be. this is 3 months? up until Aug. I was loosing an average of 8 lbs. per month. :(
I know of a lady that is coming to the meet and greet that could use some of those sizes. She doesn't have a computer and can't post. There may be others too.
Anyone can add me too. I am on facebook. https://www.facebook.com/barb.grimolfson
I didn't have to do the Boost so I can't offer any advice there, I just wanted to give some moral support, it's a long two weeks but just take it hour by hour if you have to and remember the old saying "this too shall pass". although it seems to be "passing" a little quicker for you (lol - I kill myself - I'm so funny) congrats on the 8lbs though! wow!!
