Manitoba Doctors Doing Lap Band Surgery or Fills???

Does anyone know if there are any doctors in Manitoba or close to Winnipeg that are doing lap band fills? I had my surgery performed in Toronto Nov/05 and it is so far to travel for a fill. I heard that there was a docotor that was suppose to start doing the lap band surgery in Winnipeg. Has anyone heard this or have a name??? Tammy

There are absolutly zero doctors in manitoba doing anyform of bariatric sugery. Christina

I just learned that Dr. Andrews is doing the lap band out of the maples surgical centre now. Of course it is self-pay, because the Government of Manitoba has chosen not to cover bariatric surgery.

Do you know the cost to perform the surgery? I need to do something about my weight before I go crazy. I wish there was something more affordable adn flexable. Like if Manitoba health helped.

yes it is 18,000...absolutely rediculous when you can get it done in Mexico for  5000!
